D&D 5E (2014) Not upgrading? What version of D&D 5e are you sticking with?

I am squarely in the middle, can't really decide which side of the coin I am landing on. Extra feat and MotM races are a no for me, but I can't withold alternate class features from our ranger. Guess for the sake of the poll I am on the 5.0 side.

D&D 5E (2014) What 5E Product Are You Most Looking Forward To in 2025?

Fingers crossed the title stays. Looking forward ro MM 2 for LU:A5E and Delve by Bob Worldbuulder, if that counts.

Looking Back on 2024 – Looking Forward to 2025

I got it on a whim when buying the Monster Overhaul, because I wanted to add the theme of industrialization to my campaign. It is a little more magical than I had planned, but it pulls it off great, imho. I would very much recommend it. There are a few inventions given in the book, and it...

D&D General 5e Wands with finite charges?

I like giving them out with few charges left, that allows me to sprinkle them more often and maybe a little earlier. I feel like the limited amount of charges can lead to more interesting choices. Most of the time I don't require attunement for them, except when they have additional properties...

Looking Back on 2024 – Looking Forward to 2025

Looking back: Got almost all the LU:A5E books Got most of the 5E books from WotC I want The Monster Overhaul Magical Industrial Revolution (might be my favorite book) Glad I got a little into painting minis, not to play, just to paint and relax Got a lot of people into playing RPGs, and one or...

    Speed Running Entertainment

Ah, haven't kept up with this series. I remember liking it well enough, and it had some really great moments (Dalinars 'the next step. Always the next step.'). But I do think you can speed through these quite easily, as they are (or were, in any case) rather simple. Maybe I need to catch up with...

    Speed Running Entertainment

What book is it? Kinda curious now. Because I think it heavily depends on the book. Some cause me to think about them a lot between chapters, others you can read in one sitting and not miss much, in my experience.

    D&D 5E (2024) Hazirawn/flaming Weapon+ Pact of the Blade

I'm with Umbran on that, but I'd probably allow a single damage type, just to keep things simple and quick.

The Lord of the Rings Roleplaying Added to D&D Beyond

It's my understanding that you can only access it with the DDB app, meaning you will lose access there as well, although maybe a little bit later.

So looking forward to the book! My party will face one of those lovelies soon, I'd imagine.

D&D 5E (2024) Kobold Press posts 2024 DMG Hit Piece

Stuff like that is the reason I have not bought any TotV stuff as of now. I hear it's pretty good, especially on the GM side, but it does not stand out enough to make me spend money on it. It's not like there is a dearth of great systems to try.

Is There a Better Way to Illustrate Water on a Dungeon Map Than This?

You could try to use the wave symbol, but shorter and scattered around the body of water.

    D&D 5E (2014) Favorite 3rd party Adventure Anthology book?

I can highly recommend the 'Fantastic' Books by @SlyFlourish Ran some from Fantastic Lairs and Fantastic Adventures and had no trouble running them as a relatively new DM for groups of mixed experience. Will try to get to run some from Fantastic Adventures: Ruins of the Grendleroot as soon as...

    D&D 5E (2024) Creature Stat Blocks in 2024 Player's Handbook

As there is no new information added, I don't see how it is more usable in a meaningful way. And you can call my dislike of visual clutter an aesthetic preference if you wish, but it slows down lookups, making the stat block less usable for me. Look, I won't argue with you any further. If it...

    D&D 5E (2024) Creature Stat Blocks in 2024 Player's Handbook

If usability is aesthetics for you, sure, I guess. Reducing it to aesthetic preference and stat block size is a false dichotomy, though.
