Rules FAQ How Does Concentration Work in D&D 5E?

You're playing at semantics now. Do the rules very specifically state that magic missile creates multiple orbs of force each of which deals 1d4+1 damage? Yes they do. Do rules state that the falling damage is broken down by the segments of your body hitting a hard surface? No, it is a singular...

Rules FAQ How Does Concentration Work in D&D 5E?

Yep the shield comment was in response to messages complaining that it's too low level. As for your fall question: DM discretion. Falling damage doesn't break down into how the damage is dealt - it just lumps it into one go but the DM could definitely rule that your body breaking over three...

Rules FAQ How Does Concentration Work in D&D 5E?

There is absolutely no indication that missiles targeting one creature count as a single instance of damage. Just because they strike simultaneously doesn't mean it's one damage instance similar to how getting hit by 3 OAs triggered at the same time doesn't count as a single instance of damage...

Yup. Each missile hit counts as separate instance of damage.

Rules FAQ How Do Opportunity Attacks Work In D&D 5E?

Well yes but @Puddles did just say they wish their players took the risk more often - one way to do that is to make the enemies also take the risk and pursue the escapees. Granted, if the group is built around enemy movement shut down then this is more difficult to execute but otherwise as the...

Rules FAQ How Do Opportunity Attacks Work In D&D 5E?

Warcaster true but sentinel is the only way to bypass disengaging and has zero limitation caused by creature type or size which makes it the ultimate escape shut down tool (minus teleportation and freedom of movement obviously).

Rules FAQ How Do Opportunity Attacks Work In D&D 5E?

Unless they have a way of generating distance through a bonus action, disengage + leave means that the enemy can just catch up to them to attack on their next turn.

Rules FAQ How Do Opportunity Attacks Work In D&D 5E?

Not sure about monstrous races but druids would be the first class with movement interrupting OAs (outside of variant human sentinel picks) due to having wolf form with a trip attack as early as level 2. At level 4 they can grapple+restrain on an OA via crocodile form but at that point every...

Rules FAQ How Do Opportunity Attacks Work In D&D 5E?

It's also a very dead gnome wizard most likely Step 1: Polymorph into a giant crocodile Step 2: Bite the enemy that tries to move out of range Step 3: ??? Step 4: Congrats you have grappled an enemy as a reaction. Analysis paralysis is a thing. Even more so if something happens outside your turn.

Honestly Sentinel in particular could do with a size related restriction. The gnome wizard stopping a tarrasque from moving with a dagger has become a meme for this particular reason.

Rules FAQ How Do Opportunity Attacks Work In D&D 5E?

It's all nice and well until you consider that DM controlled characters (monsters in particular) rarely have proficiency in athletics/acrobatics giving serious battlefield control advantage to players...I do not think players need any more of an advantage than they already have. You want to keep...

D&D General Solasta: Crown of the Magister Offers A Hidden Fifth Edition Computer Gem

Memory leaks were a pretty frequent bug in various pieces of software back in the day IIRC, that said I never ran into that particular issue with PST. Both BG and PST had a couple quest trigger bugs but nothing that I couldn't resolve by replaying a section of the game. Solasta is reportedly...

D&D General Solasta: Crown of the Magister Offers A Hidden Fifth Edition Computer Gem

Fair enough! Good for you and your friends for finding it entertaining enough to humour multiple playthroughs. I enjoyed the game for most part but then the ending made me feel like my 30 odd hour investment into the game was time wasted.

D&D General Solasta: Crown of the Magister Offers A Hidden Fifth Edition Computer Gem

To those of you praising the game I have a question: have you completed it? I ask because I can excuse the inaccuracy of DND rules (off hand attacks, Paladin aura range, spiritual weapon), the bugs (party stash locking up never to be opened again -let's hope you didn't put anything valuable in...

D&D General Solasta: Crown of the Magister Offers A Hidden Fifth Edition Computer Gem

I would personally advise anyone against dropping money on it right now. It may be out of early access but the amount of bugs makes it feel like it's still in beta. The ending of the game also feels incredibly underwhelming considering what's at stake.

Unearthed Arcana Unearthed Arcana: Mages of Strixhaven

For one, clerics have more than 4 domain based features so getting just 4 would be a major power gap for them.

Interestingly enough, the pocket editions of G&G and SoM look to be released at the same time as their hardcover versions of Amazon is anything to go by!

    D&D 5E (2014) Medieval D&D Character Sheets

Pretty? Sure. Functional? Nah - I like my features section to have clear detail of what a feature does so I don't have to look it up and this sheet doesn't have the space for that. Useful for a low level character perhaps
