D&D 5E (2014) WotC Announces An Impending Announcement: New Setting, Storyline

Not that literal if there are different accounts of what the exact source of the Great Glacier is. GHotR states Ulutiu exiled himself to the astral plane but left his necklace behind which created the glacier. FR wiki states that Ulutiu's only avatar (so still not the diety itself) is trapped...

D&D 5E (2014) WotC Announces An Impending Announcement: New Setting, Storyline

Not quite accurate. The glacier was formed around the necklace of a sea deity that exiled itself to the astral plane. But i guess the point of its divine origin stands.

D&D 5E (2014) WotC Announces An Impending Announcement: New Setting, Storyline

There's also the fact that Shadovar did use their magic to restore sections of Anauroch to their pre-desert state by melting the glacier but with the fall of the city of Shade, the desert terraforming efforts have been reversed. There's no mention of any of the events from IWD games in the...

D&D 5E (2014) WotC Announces An Impending Announcement: New Setting, Storyline

So apparently there was a mind flayer compound in ID2 that I totally forgot about, but I didn't think the games were canonical? Which books dealt with them in the frozen north?

D&D 5E (2014) WotC Announces An Impending Announcement: New Setting, Storyline

Wouldn't creating ice zombies for brains just give the mindflayers brain freeze? 🤣

D&D 5E (2014) WotC Announces An Impending Announcement: New Setting, Storyline

But wasn't the chatter started after DiA was announced? Also, said chatter involved a major retcon to Bane, who for some strange reason abandoned his position as a greater deity after the second sundering and decided to strut around the realms with Bhaal and Myrkul as demigods (none of that...

Unearthed Arcana Unearthed Arcana Revisits Psionics

Well yes. Costly components matter and are called out. Anything else is practically handwaved in terms of how often you can use it. Even pathfinder which has more in depth mechanics assumes you simply refill your component pouch during daily prep.

Unearthed Arcana Unearthed Arcana Revisits Psionics

Psionics may not have involved components but the manifestation was never hidden if I recall. 3/3.5 e had various types of manifestation that made it obvious who the power was originating from so it's not like psions could just skirt about the battlefield manifesting powers without drawing...

D&D 5E (2014) New Errata Released For D&D PHB, OotA, Xanathar, and ToF

Why would you compare HS to MCW or MHW tho? Higher level spells are always more effective than lower level spells upcast. Take scorching ray compared to fireball. They both do 8d6 damage but SR will only do that damage to a single target and the moment you start spreading it to more targets you...

RPG Crowdfunding News – The Griffon’s Saddlebag, Fading Suns, World Wide Wrestling, and More

It's interesting to see that certain projects are moving along slowly, meanwhile frosthaven broke ks records for funds received in the first 24 hours despite high buy in price. Definitely feels like people were saving up for that one and anything else launching around the same time found itself...

WotC More info on Baldur's Gate 3 coming February 27 2020

Or perhaps you're forgetting who Volo is and thus don't realise that he's meant to be voiced this way? His voiceover sounded perfectly fine to me.

WotC More info on Baldur's Gate 3 coming February 27 2020

I think BG1 had a fair amount less humour than BG2 did but that's not too say it was missing. Minsc, the very meta tomb stones in Nashkel, the dude that just won't leave you alone (still in Nashkel) - just off the top of my head. BG2 ramped it up a great deal as by then BioWare had more...

Monte Cook Games’ Next Kickstarter Is Ptolus (for 5E and Cypher)

Okay this is strange. No idea why my phone decided to split my post in two... don't see the delete option so feel free to remove this post.

Monte Cook Games’ Next Kickstarter Is Ptolus (for 5E and Cypher)

Makes me wonder how much of this will be simply a reprint of old material (art, lore) and how much is going to be written anew.

Nominate your MOST ANTICIPATED RPG of 2020

Bit of an optimistic nomination as they probably won't be released in 2020, but in case they are: Fading Suns from Ulisses Spiele and Werewolf The Apocalypse 5e from Paradox Entertainment.

D&D 5E (2014) Tyranny of Dragons Getting Republished in Combined Anniversary Volume

Fair enough, however notice how - outside that sidebar and the throwaway comment in the MM about the trhee there's practically no into about current divine ranks. We know Lurue (who was previously a demigod), Sekolah, Lolth, Bahamut and Asmodeus are lesser deities but nobody else is defined and...
