    D&D 5E (2014) [OOC] Uller's Out of the Abyss

Regarding NPCs, they are there to give us guidance sometimes, but as Matt Colville says, you need to keep the signal-to-noise ratio up so that we learn that not everything they say is the best thing to do. As for Drum, maybe he is in Erevan's disguised pack? Then we still can talk?

    D&D 5E (2014) [OOC] Uller's Out of the Abyss

I completely understand, but Ezraen is a broken man right now, clinging to all he knows (which would be his recent Oath of Devotion). In a moment of compassion, he rushed to ease pain, but also invariably crossed a boundary that he shouldn't have (which I played up because of his lack of...

    D&D 5E (2014) [IC] Uller's Out of the Abyss

Ezraen looks hard at Surana, "Lathander said, The enemy lies below... Cryptic, I know, but what if that means the fish-lady's god, Lemo-googon? The two gods, Lathander and their" the paladin gestures toward Ploop, "god seemed to be at an accord. I don't think they are our enemy in this. I made...

    D&D 5E (2014) [IC] Uller's Out of the Abyss

Ezraen gets up, almost refusing to wipe his tears, as if doing so would be further insult to Topsy and Turvy. He lays Turvy's head gently on the ground before saying, "One's bond to one's god is sacred, I forgot that. Perhaps if I had not interfered, then Turvy would have been spared. I accept...

    D&D 5E (2014) [IC] Uller's Out of the Abyss

Realization suddenly dawns on Ezraen's face, "Oh gods... it was my fault..." Dirty streaks barely visible down his dusky face, "Not a sacrifice, a debt for my interference."

    D&D 5E (2014) [IC] Uller's Out of the Abyss

"I... I heard two voices. One was Lathander, of that I have no doubt. The other... a gurgling voice, it said, The sacrifice has been paid... The last thing I heard before Turvy went wild was Lathander... You cannot save them all. I... I failed them," Ezraen looks up at his Elven friend...

    D&D 5E (2014) [IC] Uller's Out of the Abyss

Ezraen falls to his knees, catching Turvy in his arms. The paladin looks like a broken man, tears streaming down his cheeks. I'm so sorry, Turvy... I failed you... I hope you know peace...

    D&D 5E (2014) [OOC] Uller's Out of the Abyss

Visually, this gives a very Jackie Chan feel to combats, which I love, though I likely will not use them with my 12 Str. ;)

Are you f-ing kidding me? 9 damage on 4d8? Enough to make you sick. EDIT: Oh, right we did that homebrew solution. Then damage would be: 1d4 2d8 plus 25 hp.

    D&D 5E (2014) [OOC] Uller's Out of the Abyss

No worries! I appreciate it, and in fact am usually doing it in other face-to-face games, because I am the most experienced DM there. Uller has corrected me on rules a few times, so I trust that he knows what he's doing. :) It's actually very refreshing for me!
