It is actually an ancient dragon (as others have noted); however, Dragon Delves is a bunch of discrete adventures, not a singular campaign. So it is not necessarily an end of campaign level big bad (nor should be at CR 23).

Wow, I am not a fan of dragons wearing items, but this is the best blue dragon mini I have ever seen. I love the new design, clearly a D&D blue but new and fresh. However, I do mish the ears - some version of those should have stayed IMO. Maybe I will add them?!

These do not go hand-in-hand. There has been innovative design in ttrpg for a long time, but that doesn't transform the hobby's power structure. Also, it is not like Daggerheart is really innovative design anyway. So it seems to me what you rally want is a change in the hobby's power structure...

I think the writing is equally or even more negatively judged than art. The issue it that for some/many it is easier to spot AI art. However, if they use AI writing and get caught, I think the backlash would be even greater than what happened with the AI modified art.

That is possible, I haven't looked into that area as much. That doesn't really change my point though.

You never know, but that seems unlikely based on current hires and the high profile nature of D&D. For a 3pp I can see that happening (actually it already has), but WotC gets absolutely grilled when an real artist who the used for years uses an AI tool to touch-up their art. I don't see them...

What would that look like in you opinion. I can't even picture what that could realistically mean in the context of D&D.

It has always been part of the setting choice IMO. Nothing to do with 2024 rules.
