    D&D 5E (2024) Avatar of Bane 2.0. BG 3.5 Themed Game

Yes, Zard says that. However, every time he does that his groups curb-stomps the monster. IIRC, I recommend a CR 21+ in the other thread given his group size and level.

    D&D 5E (2024) Avatar of Bane 2.0. BG 3.5 Themed Game

As a counter point: since we know historically your (@Zardnaar) group destroys 5e monsters, I wouldn't change the damage / CR. Instead, I would give an ability, a reaction maybe, to escape being pinned down.

D&D 5E (2024) Opinions on the Topaz Dragon Reverse Wings?

The green is a hard one for me. I really like the 5e24 design, and it makes sense from the mythological / folklore of serpents and green's as manipulators. However, it is far from its origins and doesn't really say "forest dragon."

D&D 5E (2024) Opinions on the Topaz Dragon Reverse Wings?

Yes. I was calling for it shortly after 5e14 was released. I even made a thread about it. I would link to it, but I need to jump into a meeting (and then I really need to work)! PS - I think almost all of the 5e24 designs are improvements over the 3e-4e-5e era of designs. PSS - I don't feel...

D&D 5E (2024) Opinions on the Topaz Dragon Reverse Wings?

No the first two are both 1e: white and blue dragons. If you can't tell the difference then I suspect your pattern recognizing abilities are less than the average person. I mean one has a nose horn (nose horn = blue*) and one has a head sail (head sail = white). Those features have been...

D&D 5E (2024) Opinions on the Topaz Dragon Reverse Wings?

I agree, except that I much prefer the 2025 reference design to the 3e-4e-5e design of the blue. My only regret about the 5e24 design is that they dropped the ears. If they had kept them it would be near perfect IMO. Also, the black design has always been pretty clear as well.

D&D 5E (2024) Opinions on the Topaz Dragon Reverse Wings?

IDK, I think it is much easier to tell a white dragon from a blue dragon than a 3e blue from 4e blue. IMO opinion the differences between 3e and 4e (except for the green which the did specifically change) were entirely differences in artistic style, not design. In fact, what you describe as...

D&D 5E (2024) Opinions on the Topaz Dragon Reverse Wings?

There was a standard, it was just that the art direction was less strict about artist following the standard.

D&D 5E (2024) Opinions on the Topaz Dragon Reverse Wings?

I guess that could be debated. They look backward to me in the FToD image. I will note that RJ said this: "You may have noticed the somewhat controversial design feature but instead of cowardly ‘fixing’ it, I leaned all the way in." That implies tome that it was a design feature before he got...

D&D 5E (2024) Opinions on the Topaz Dragon Reverse Wings?

Just wanted to be clear it wasn't this artist's choice. The design (backward wings) comes from FToD and RJ didn't do that art.

D&D 5E (2024) Opinions on the Topaz Dragon Reverse Wings?

Thank you for sharing! The only one I really "like" is the crystal dragon. Of course, i don't really care much about the gem dragons so the fact they are my least favorite doesn't have much impact. It is more of a shrug then move on.

D&D General The Purple Dragon Knights are tied to an Amethyst Dragon (confirmed)

What did TSR give people for all the bad fantasy the piled on us during...well their entire run really. Whatever that was WotC should match it.

D&D General The Purple Dragon Knights are tied to an Amethyst Dragon (confirmed)

Do we know this? Have we seen the lore being proposed in the book or was it introduced in SCAG? I mean if that is all they do, then sure. But that could just be a starting point for potentially interesting lore couldn't it?

TSR Example from the worst TSR adventure module(s) ever published

The first paragraph certainly has the correct flavor if not the same taste.

What do you not like? To be transparent I know next to nothing about FR lore.
