Spoilers Rings of Power is back!

I'm pretty much in the same boat: I cycle through either LotR, the Silmarillion, the Lost Tales, or the Children of Húrin every couple years, I've delved deeply into Quenya and into Tengwar back in my early 20s and I've seen the movies countless times. I find it terribly dishonest that the...

    Cookin again

Made Sapporo-style Miso ramen (for the first time) tonight. Was quite delicious.

Spoilers Rings of Power is back!

If this is the Iron Crown that held the Silmarils, it would have been used by the Valar to fashion a collar to chain and humble Morgoth after the War of Wrath. So I do not understand how it ended up in the hands of the Orcs. Was the crown "lost" during the War of Wrath? Then where are the 2...

Players Don't Care About Your Setting

Once my KS stuff has arrived (whenever that may be) I will try and run a Dolmenwood campaign, which means I will specifically look for players who want to become invested in the setting, as it is so dense with quirky lore, adventures practically write themselves if only the players bite the...

Spoilers Rings of Power is back!

Sauron was an absolutely powerful entity, even at the end of the 1st Age. He wasn't called "the Necromancer" for nothing, he could weave magic and shapeshift into giant bats and wolves at will and probably wouldn't have needed co firmation/coronation by mere Orcs.

You're joking, right? Right? If anything is bad fanfiction, it's RoP.

D&D 5E (2024) Forgotten Realms: Heroes of Faerûn

Baldur's Gate is not a "gritty medieval city". Nothing in current D&D is medieval (nor even gritty), and even less so the Sword Coast of Færûn.

Fighting the Gray Tide (Miniature Painting)

The files for those Orcs are from a creator called Highlands Miniatures. His stuff is usually quite clean and nice to paint. I'm not a fan of sculptors who go absolutely crazy when it comes to details and textures. Great for the occasional display piece, not so much for miniatures intended for...

Fighting the Gray Tide (Miniature Painting)

I've finally been able to get some painting done again. This Orc lad here is a proper Orc: green, and mean.

    Cookin again

It's pineapple, red onion, scotch bonnet (or habanero) pepper, garlic, and cilantro, marinating in lime and orange juice. It's a sweet, spicy, tangy appetizer.

Fighting the Gray Tide (Miniature Painting)

I want my undead to look realistic, and not wearing batwings-and-skulls decorated gear.

Fighting the Gray Tide (Miniature Painting)

I'm in my mid-40s. Getting a pair of these these was the best decision ever. Not painting without them anymore. Just sayin'.
