    Is WOTC headed for a TSR-ending? :/

    In a word, no.

How to Paint Minis the Bruce Campbell Way*

I'm on the verge of buying an airbrush and compressor as I have a couple dozen tanks to paint for Warhammer 40K. My question is, has anybody tried using Gesso to prime minis? I've seen some posts on the internet and have been considering it. Gesso has teeth for binding paint to the surface and...

    Renaissance Faire as Gaming Inspiration

This is the first year in a decade I ahven't made it up to the Bristol Ren Faire. :(

    PDFS--Of the WotC Court Case

Actually, that is not indicative of a single lost sale. All it indicates is that people downloaded the product without paying for it. It does not indicate that even one of those people who downloaded would have paid a dime for the product had the avenue of downloading not been available. Heck...

How to respectfuly disagree with EGG?

Well, the answer to the citing of the 1e DMG is simple. That IS how it's done... in 1E. It may be done differently in 2E, 3E, 3.5E, and 4E. And it'll probably be done a whole new way when they get to 5E in a few years, too.

Which settings (any game, any edition) have the best maps?

I'll go with Forgotten Realms. Especially since I have the Forgotten Realms Interactive Atlas.

Pathfinder 1E Would You Buy DDI-Pathfinder?

How much do you know about software development, Mistwell? Because I'm here to tell you, cost benefit analysis of what you p[ropose would kill this isea five minutes into the calculations. DDI technology was developed specifically for 4E. To vet the code to 3.5E would cost nearly as much as...

Pathfinder 1E Would You Buy DDI-Pathfinder?

While promoting a direct competitor? I think not. WotC cannot do this without licensing Paizo Content. You need to read the Pathfinder book. Paizo would never be foolish enough to enter into such an agreement.

Pathfinder 1E Would You Buy DDI-Pathfinder?

#1 Why Would WotC do such a thing? #2 Why would Paizo license them to do so with their content (not all of that content is OGL)?

Was D&D the game you introduced role playing with?

Since it was the only role playing game in existance at the time, I started with D&D (white box, three booklets and a folded sheet with tables).

    Hello fellow GRONARDS!

Heck, I've still got unpainted lead. And unpainted pewter. And unpainted plastic. If I paint all my armies, I'll die.

Hobby Game Market Strong, RPGs Deeply Troubled

I think that the fact that the gap between D&D and the others growing is a definite sign of the success of DDI.

    Gaming Terrain, Tiles, and Battlemats

Building pieces goes quickly if you're just glueing blocks together. The techniques I described earlier are more advanced and take much longer because there's a lot more to it than just the blocks. Putting together a set of dungeon pieces similar to a set of purchased Dwarven Forge stuff would...

non switchers: what can wotc do to win you back?

It's not that hard, really. Heck, I bought the core books for 4E as I have done with every edition. Unlike every other edition, that's where I stopped buying. The answer is, sell products I want to buy. The announcement of Dark Sun was a pretty good step in this direction, but we'll see how...

Hobby Game Market Strong, RPGs Deeply Troubled

Pretty telling report right there, sttraight from the industry itself. I'm not surprised about the GW hobby as they've made some significant strides to insure profitability in the past three years.

    Gaming Terrain, Tiles, and Battlemats

I'm actually working up a new magnetized technique developed on the Hirst Arts boards. I'm creating bases that have blocks glued down to 1/8 think artist's hardboard cut into 4"X4" pieces. Everything is based on that 4" measurement. I use extruded polystyrene (1/2" thick) to fill the center and...

    Gaming Terrain, Tiles, and Battlemats

I use Hirst Arts molds to pour bricks and build my dungeons. I use other wargames terrain as well. The value add is, I'm a wargamer and modeler, too.

Pathfinder 1E Paizo Partners with Reaper to Produce Pathfinder Miniatures

First, the oil paints used are Artist oils. Some of the techniques use oil paint thinner and the artis oils similar to how washes and inks are used, but with astounding results incomparable to standard wash and inking techniques. I've also seen oils used to produce five o'clock shadows on minis...
