Poison Pill v. Restraint of Trade

You can tell the blogger is not a lawyer. First of all, there is no longer a d20 license. Second fo all, the OGL is a license entered into with WotC. WotC is 100% within its rights to deny you ever entering into one licensing agreement with them if you enter into a differenet licensing agreement...

    Fate of WotC Closed Content?

d20 is officially D-E-A-D dead. 3.0 and 3.5 are officially OOP. The OGL lives on.

Cloaktrick Rogue: Worst named mini ever?

Hat Trick Rogue would be worse because he'd have to wear ice skates.

D&D 4E Just purchased the WotC 4E Character sheets

There's a guy from the Gleemax boards that is using the Magic Set Editor to create power cards for 4E: http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=1060034

    D&D 4E on Somethig Awful

Now you're just being a power gamer.

That's it; I am done buying minis'!

But WotC says the D&D minis aren't for the D&D players, they're for the D&D Miniatures players. /sarcasm The "collectible" model works for WotC. The OP just spent $550 to get one Dragonborn mini. I'd bet they realize more profit and probably more overall revenue from the minis than they do...

    Why do people hate Elfkind?

I ran an all elf campaign when 2E first came out. It was cool then. It got boring when everybody and their brother did it.

    Great City Campaign Setting...not 4e...sucks

Sucessfully launching DDI with the features they've been touting for the past year would be a compelling reason for me to consider a switch to 4E. It wouldn't mean I'd switch, but there would be a compelling reason to consider it. As I've said before, D&D has forked. One fork will be...

    Cost of Core Books PDFs

This simple fact does more to entice me to 4E than anything else I have seen.

    Great City Campaign Setting...not 4e...sucks

Thanks for the clarification. It does, however, limit what can be put into such products. That's the carrot of the GSL. The stick is the fact that WotC can nullify the GSL at any time.

    Great City Campaign Setting...not 4e...sucks

Hugely interesting. It looks to me that Paizo is in a good position to become the de facto source fo canon for the continuation of 3.5 (e.g. "Pathfinder is 3.75"). That could make Paizo a huge player in the industry.

    Great City Campaign Setting...not 4e...sucks

Not really. IT's not 4E content then and cannot be sold as 4E content. The example presented is moot given the nature of a settlement between TSR/WotC and KenzerCo years ago over some reprinted comics. KenzerCo doens't ply by the GSL rules like every other publisher out there.

    Great City Campaign Setting...not 4e...sucks

HOLY COW! I plumb forgot about the "Dragon Archive CD-ROM" debacle and how there was some sort of a settlement for Kenzer to have certain rights over it. Seems TSR reprinted the Knights of the Dinner Table run in the Dragon MAgazine without permission, and it ended up in a settlement. That...

    Great City Campaign Setting...not 4e...sucks

Well said, and even the portents of the goose liver I'm looking at can be altered by furture entrails. For example, given the nature of the GSL, I am disinclined to purchase 4E at this time. If my misginvings are proven wrong after October 1, I can always jump on the bandwagon then.

Fan Site Policy: When is it coming?

The problem with fan sites would be exclusively related to copyright and would center around images, if you ask me.

GSL & CC - Do they play together?

The way the licensing was worded in the example, if the GSL was altered to preclude use of the CC, then the product in question would have nothing covered under the CC.
