    D&D 5E (2014) Playtest This: Red Dragon

I like the intent of the weak spot, though your original idea seemed off. Having a weak spot that allows the player to attack with advantage would result in them being more accurate, but not doing more damage. Personally, I think even if they know where the weak spot is, hitting that spot...

Number of Minions in Factory Aflame encounter?

It's in the text of the description, last sentence before the section heading "Wildfire" Though gideonpepys has good advice to scale up if you need more of a challenge.

    Ranger Design Idea: Contingencies

I like the concept. However I think the 2 round setup for payoff if 3rd round is a bit much, would like every other round instead.

    [Eberron] Timeline Advancement?

I think keeping the current time makes sense, as you say this seems to be a critical time, that changing it a few years can define things a lot depending which direction you decided to take. The suggestion of framing things as a set of different "possible futures" could be a good way to do it...

    "Aggro"

I think an issue is that older versions were good at making the fighter into a linebacker (my impression, never had experience as a fighter pre-4e). 4e with the defender marks turned them into the tackle, and until the Slayer was released with essentials making the linebacker melee character...

    "Aggro"

I think having something like 4e's mark makes sense to include, basically representing a person fighting in a way that's more protective of allies. But one thing that lets it work is that it's not a strict algorithim and the DM is free to go after someone else at times that seem to make sense...

    Stealth Rules and updates..

They do monthly updates, usually small changes, every once and a while there's some more significant ones. Yesterday was actually one of the minor updates. Last significant one mostly focused on giving rarity to a whole bunch of items. All updates are listed on the website here...

Close Burst 1 - when is it not a close burst ??

Strictly following the rules it should still work against a flying creature. I suppose you could describe it as a shockwave or debris that gets thrown up. I want to say I've come across powers that explicitly state they don't affect flying creatures, though I can't place any right now.

Dungeons and Dragons Dungeon Master Survey

Responded and will be interested in seeing what you do with the data. Though I agree with Yora, at least about Worldbuilding, that defining things as time/session doesn't always make sense, but figured a rough estimate of the percentage of prep time in general. Another thought I had while...

    Warlock/Binder/Hexblade Pact deals

So far it's been mostly flavor, I did suggest my DM run with a conflict between patrons when by coincidence a written adventure had an enemy with powers that were associated with my pact. Unfortunately that campaign fell apart soon afterwards, so we never really went anywhere with it. Honestly...

    Spy mission rules

Well as expected my players decided to try to get info out of their prisoner. I didn't explicitly explain the mechanics, but was planning to use it as a guide of how to respond. However one player rolled high on the very first check, and after that it ended up being pretty free form since they...

    Spy mission rules

I like the setup for tailing, seems to make sense that different skills come into play following and keeping yourself out of sight. Not sure how I feel about the multiple PC rule. It works that multiple people should be have an easier time keeping up, but it seems like they'd also be more...
