    I thought (honestly) that Wizard's First Rule was pretty good. It was every book in the series after that, that made me think "this is really horrible writing and stuff".

    Still use reaction rolls on occasion. Was amusing and fun for all, when the NPC they needed to rent a ship from took an immediate dislike to the party as a whole.

    Yeah, I have a lot of monster books also. And still mainly use the main one. I will look through the others for unique things, or things that fit my world mythos (like void dragons) but usually stick with the standards.

    Yeah I read it also (cause work in bookstore). The Young Adults and Women raving about it were surprised when I said "Its kinda mid, and predictable from like page five. Decent, but not as good as popularity is making it seem". I am curious about those enemies that appeared near the end though.

    Hmmm, I feel a lot of the gems of power series were the better ones. The early books remind me of the pulps and Moorcock, etc.
