D&D 5E (2014) No Thief/Acrobat in XGTE, so... how would you do it?

As others have noted, the skill system (along with some of the rogue class abilities) already contains the abilities that the 1e T-A had in a very different sort of system (where initially the only pseudo-skill system was that bolted onto the thief chassis). Especially if one took expertise in...

TSR What TSR-era RPG should get an official 5e reboot?

I voted Boot Hill, but for the Old West setting rather than “the guns.” D&D has always had a frontier outlook that (especially in the original High Gygaxian) borrows as much from the American Wild West as it does from the European Middle Ages. It would interesting to see the game take a side...

D&D 5E (2014) Why Are Rangers Arcane Spellcasters?

Nothing quite makes one feel old as a gamer as when others refer to the use of ‘divine and ‘arcane’ as keywords with specific meaning for classes as “the old days”… ;)

    D&D 5E (2014) Does a D&D Videogame have to be turn-based?

I haven’t played any video games beyond computer solitaire in years, so I have nothing constructive to add here, but I’m still a prisoner of your polling gags…

D&D 5E (2014) Has anyone found any suitable Tortle minis?

The previous Raphael comment aside, there have been a few lines of TMNT miniatures over the years, dating back to Palladium’s RPG and at least one from Dark Horse Comics (as well as a few mini games such as Heroclix).

    D&D 5E (2014) can you do a mega-dungeon in 5th Edition?

My first thought, regarding early advancement, is to design the “first level” differently, more of a open/above-ground foyer or courtyard area that they explore before going under at Level 3 (I’m actually reminded of hitting the Moathouse before going down into the Temple of Elemental Evil)...

    D&D 5E (2014) Where should a D&D videogame be set?

The logical answer would probably be Waterdeep and Undermountain, combining a contiguous city and megadungeon in the Forgotten Realms. (mind you, I say that as someone who, were I the only audience, would build a Dynasty Warriors-style game set during Krynn’s War of the Lance!)

    D&D 5E (2014) Artificer should be a half caster (0-5)

That actually really works. The warlock's system of magic should problem reappear somewhere in the game, even if reskinned. Using infusions in place of infusions and some sort of systems of study and toolsets in place or patrons and pacts would make for an interesting and distinct-from-wizards...

    D&D 5E (2014) Aasimar & Tiefling offspring

My first thought is take the Fallen Aasimar, switch its cantrip to the Tiefling's Thaumaturgy, and add a cosmetic feature or two (a ruddy cast to the skin perhaps).

    D&D 5E (2014) Acererack is a WHAT???

And to answer the question of why he doesn't become a god... Taxes. Gods pay a higher tax bracket and the dude's got dungeons full of expensive traps all across the multiverse. (That's what worship is all about, it's a tax credit from mortals!)

D&D 5E (2014) When do you think the revised fighter will be released?

What the others said. On the other hand, I wouldn’t be surprised if we end up seeing an expansion of the maneuver list — similar to how the Warlockks invocations have been looked at in UA — over time (the list of EK spells expanding over time as the Wizard spell list grows larger) and more new...

D&D 5E (2014) Should Published Settings Limit Classes and Races Allowed?

We should be limited to playing as Morrus.

D&D 5E (2014) What Subclasses and races are still missing?

I wonder how many of these ideas could be accomplished with an expanded list of feats, tailored toward a given class or set of classes, meant to add/adjust class abilities in the same way that standard feats add/adjust general abilities. That compacts the numbers/spread of added abilities and...

D&D 5E (2014) Mike Mearls: Ranged Paladin doesn't break anything

Adapting a paladin's abilities and smite spells for use at range would be like adapting a ranger's abilities and arrow spells for use in melee; neither break the system, they just tweak the assumptions of style built into it to differentiate classes.

    D&D 5E (2014) A Party of One Class

Four rogues might be interesting, seeing the range of styles and abilities among the subclasses (assassins and swashbucklers providing extra damage, thieves and scouts interacting with the environment, arcane tricksters providing magic, masterminds acting as social controllers). They could even...

    D&D 5E (2014) D&D 5e nearing 800,000 copies sold?

Don't overlook the most important part: since these were TSR days, finding that treasure horde netted the workers a lot more XP than they got fighting deadlines! ;)
