I agree 100% with the sentiment that they must get this right - but I don't think anybody knows yet what right actually is; or what the killer app might be, or actually do, or allow players to do. Ask 100 people you'll get 101 different answers.

Agreed. I was very unhappy with WOTC when they pulled the Dungeon and Dragon licences - and I was all set to dislike 4e on general principle. What we've heard so far however, and what I've seen of SWSE have me confident that 4e is probably going to be a good thing.

Agreed. But I don't think the core 3 books need to contain or be tied to a specific setting. The core 3 books are the rules - the setting(s) fluff should be provided in a seperate book(s)

Yes. Minis will be compulsory in 4e, no exceptions. If you don't use them WOTC will come round and punish you for indulging in badwrongfun. Even the online DI component will require the purchase and use of minis. I've already started scanning and photographing my older minis so I'll be able to...

Why is it any sort of suprise to anybody that they are focussing efforts on developing the computer based part of the 4e package for the most popular computer platform?
