These struck me as being aimed very much at a kiddie demographic rather than the core gamer market. I'm using The Practical Guide to Dragons to help my daughter (age 7) improve her reading.

That looks cool - is there any news on a potential release date? This could be a perfect Christmas gift for any kids interested in getting into RPGs.

Aren't WOTC scrapping D&D rather than risk releasing 4e? I heard somebody say that they were going to use the OGL Traveller rules that Mongoose are planning - so instead of D20 we'll all be playing 2D6 by this time next year. Its the end I tell you, the end! (puts on tinfoil hat and runs away) :D

I think you'll find actually that the usual and most reliable (and IMHO best) option in such circumstances is to blame the French. We Brits always do. :D

Mongoose to publish Traveller. Now that is a suprise. Not sure if it's a good thing, but it's definitely a suprise.

Black Industries (the GW publishing arm) are previewing Dark Heresy, the WH40K RPG at Gencon this year - so I don't think thats the new Mongoose IP.

What? CRPGs are fair, valid, practical, accurate, and reliable in certain circumstances.

This was the point I was trying to make. I think NWN is most definitely an RPG - especially when played in a small group with a live DM (or DMs) rather than in a pre-scripted world. I think alot of the generalisations (including some in this thread) about CRPGs and lack of RP, and lack of NPC...

Battlestar Galactica by MWP isn't D20 - it uses the same MWP developed system as the Serenity RPG.
