Esper Genesis : 5E Sci-Fi Art Sneak Peak and Gen Con Plans...

I have led the EG Kickstarter and have been very happy with it so far. However, I haven't looked at it much. For my kids group I am thing of using it for our next campaign (just started a regular D&D game and half of them are beginners).

D&D 5E (2014) Are You Planning on Subscribing to D&D Beyond

With DDB it will be easier to cheat since it has homebrew options. Unless the campaign manager will let the DM control the homebrew options.

    D&D 5E (2014) Tomb of Annihilation Maps - Roll20 Preview

I noticed it says that is releases Sept 8th. Isn't that the premiere stire date? Do Roll20 and FG release on the premiere store data? If so I hope DDB does as well.

    Starfinder Starfinder Blasts Off!

I am not a PF fan but I will pick up the PDF of SF. If nothing else I may find some fluff or rules to port into 5e, or maybe I might even play it. :)

How long have you been gaming?

Stared in 82 with Moldvay Basic and quickly switched to AD&D. Played until very early 89 (mostly D&D but dabbled in a few others as well). Picked it up again about 10 years ago. So started 35 years ago but have only played about 16-17 of those years.

    Which rpg got you hooked?

Moldvay Basic D&D. My first and it was enough to get hooked.

D&D 5E (2014) Anyone Using Adventures in Middle Earth Journey/Rest Rules in Regular 5e Game?

A while ago I picked up a set of Hobbit Tales cards and would like to use those for journeys as well.

How I Learned To Stop Worrying About Game Prep

I try to be as low prep as possible. I mostly use pre-made adventures but don't stick to them verbatim. Ther are more guidelines than anything. I work full time and have a wife and 4 kids. Most of my time at home is spent with my wife and kids. My prep comes as I am driving to and from work (an...

group age range (how low can you go)??

Without more info on how the kid got into your game then we can't rally offer much more. I will give you some examples I have encountered. I run a game for a 7 yo, a 15 yo, and 4 11 yo. The 7, 15, and one 11 yo are my sons. The other three 11 yo are friends of my middle son. This works great...

D&D 5E (2014) Are You Planning on Subscribing to D&D Beyond

Cool, it downloads into a form tillable PDF so you can make changes after downloading. I will still probably use the online sheet at the table though.

Tabletop Money: Currency Cards For Your RPG

Nevermind. I ordered a deck. Printed and shipped. No download. I look forward to using these at the table.

Tabletop Money: Currency Cards For Your RPG

When you buy these on Drivethrurpg.com do you get a file you have to print yourself or physical cards that get shipped to you? Or both?

News Digest: Starfinder Miniatures Minis Are Coming, WizKids' New Dungeon Crawler, New Warhammer 40K

Is Paizo doing pawns for the ships? Seems like a much more economical way to go. EDIT: To answer my own question, ships are included in the Starfinder Core Book box of pawns.

I haven't used them but plan to use a modified version of them eventually.

D&D 5E (2014) 3 Years Later: D&D's total Domination on Amazon (and Earth in General)

As a fan of OSR and 4e versions of the game (While I don't hate 3.x and respect the improvements it made to the game, it isn't my cup of tea) I am very pleased to see 5e really catch on. WotC did a great job of finding a nice balance point between editions. Very easy to simplify to close to BX...

D&D 5E (2014) Are You Planning on Subscribing to D&D Beyond

I am not too worried about it being shut off later. DDI which some thought was a disaster is still up and running 8 years later. So I see very little risk in the near and medium term of the system being shut down. I don't really care about the long term. So with DDB we have two choices (A)...

D&D 5E (2014) Are You Planning on Subscribing to D&D Beyond

As a follow up to tjose that plan to buy into DDB what's your strategy for the back catalogue of books? My plan is to get the three core right away. That would give me the vast majority of the mechanical bits. I plan to get and run ToA when that is released and XGtE when that is released. As...

D&D 5E (2014) Characters for Tomb of Annihilation

The new kids group I am running now is going through the Caves of Chaos. I plan for them to be 4th level by the end of August and will take a break when school starts up and pickup with Tomb of Annihilation when it is released on DDB.

Good for D&D. I am happy to see the brand growing.
