    D&D 5E (2014) Why should I allow Multiclassing ?

So here's what I say. This is my story: I am dwarf that has connected with the spirit of Bahumut. In exchange for my devotion to him he grants me powers, as I am not truly a priest, my powers manifest as a dragon's would. I don't "cast" spells I gain a breath weapon. For example, I don't...

    D&D 5E (2014) Why should I allow Multiclassing ?

I've played in both types of games over the years. I had a DM that paired the Cleric spell list down for me and told me what weapons my fighter couldn't use for various reasons and I've had guys say "I don't give a **** what you take Joe." Both games were way fun, as long as the game is...

That's funny, we actively encourage it!

    D&D 5E (2014) Why should I allow Multiclassing ?

It's a mechanics grab, not necessarily a power grab. The character isn't "better' than a straight Paladin, it's just different. Glad to see your reasoning though, thanks for sharing.

    D&D 5E (2014) Warlock Hex- Concentration-Short Rest

Okay, when casting HEX as a 3rd level spell a Warlock can maintain concentration from up to 8 hours. Does short resting disrupt concentration? If not, the PC can maintain it, short rest and then get the spell slot back?

    D&D 5E (2014) Feats *and* aibility increases

Why? His feat choices will just be more defensive in nature. Extra good Saving Throw or More HPs first come to mind.

    D&D 5E (2014) Why should I allow Multiclassing ?

Just kinda wondering (because I play in pro Multiclassing Groups) what some of you guys think about this: I want to play a Holy Warrior of the Good Dragon God. I start out as a Mountain Dwarf Warlock with the Good Dragon being my patron (use the Arch Devil from the PHB). Take 5 levels of...

A lot of anti-Multiclassing sentiment here.

    D&D 5E (2014) Feats *and* aibility increases

It'll make them a little better. You'll have to include more or better monsters to balance combat.

Proposed tweak to Sharpshooter and GWM

They're also too strong considered in relation to monster HPs, as well as compared to other builds and feats. I don't find this at all, our groups struggle to do enough damage to monsters. Once you hit CR4+ and things have 80+ hit points those feats aren't a huge deal. Sure you can one shot...

D&D 5E (2014) The DMG: Has it lived up to the hype?

I am not trying to be a jerk but I really don't understand what it is you are looking for in reference to leveling. What math is required? This is for selfish reasons, I haven't used experience points in years and want to make sure there isn't some unintended consequence I haven't noticed.

D&D 5E (2014) The DMG: Has it lived up to the hype?

Why do you need rules for faster/slower leveling? Just do it! Or critical fumbles? There are like a gazillion tables available. It's a fumble.....

D&D 5E (2014) What Melee class does the most damage?

The paladin/sorcerer becomes the smite king.

D&D 5E (2014) What Melee class does the most damage?

Human Fighter (Battlemaster) or Ranger (Colossul Slayer) with Archer Fighting style, and Sharp shooter and 18 DEX +4 to hit and does 2d8 +14 on the first attack and 1d8 +14 on the second attack most of the time.

D&D 5E (2014) What Melee class does the most damage?

If you eschew ever casting spells, Paladins do alot with their smites and Blade Pact Warlocks do a lot with their constant hexes. Other than that, it doens't really matter as long as you get a 2nd attack and a high STR. Barbarians get rage damage, Fighters get 1d8 (battlemaster), Rangers...

D&D 5E (2014) Behind the design of 5th edition Dungeons and Dragons: Well my impression as least.

I am a big fan of overlap as well. It does make encounter design (COMBAT and NONCOMBAT) more difficult for the DM. I think it is actually easier to run agame of ALL melee fighters or ALL controller wizards or ALL sneaky rogues than running a game where you have 3 guys who more or less do...

    D&D 5E (2014) When should I Multiclass?

Mage armor doesn't stack with monk thing (or barbarian thing). It's in one of Mearl's tweets.

    D&D 5E (2014) Rogues & damage...

Your talking about a 13th level thief, +3 short sword with a girdle of Fire Giant Strength? The same fighter gets 5/2 with 3 more damage each round. That's more damage the first round if he hits twice.
