    D&D 5E (2014) Half Elf vs Human

I feel the exact same way. I actually had to force myself to make nonhuman characters when tinkering around.

    D&D 5E (2014) Shillelagh after 5th Level

I think it also counts as a magic weapon.

Feats aren't cool? Your mantra isn't exactly a widely accepted fact.

    D&D 5E (2014) Contagion and Boss Fights

Just have it be stunned to the end of its next bonus turn. Then have it resume as normal. IT's still gonna lose a bunch of action but it won't be useless.

    Swordsage: The Complex Fighter

The above is a little more negative that I intended. In all, I think the class is just to much. I think it is what you want, a fighter with options, but I don't think you can call it balanced with other classes.

    Swordsage: The Complex Fighter

Couple more thoughts: Single Blade When you are wielding a melee weapon in one hand and nothing in your off hand, you gain a +2 bonus to attack rolls. This would make the character the best melee character to hit in the game. I figure you are basing it off the Archery +2 thing the fighters...

    Swordsage: The Complex Fighter

At first glance, it's looks more powerful than a fighter. All you are giving up is Heavy Armor and the two extra attacks right? I would drop the Ability Increase down to the 4-8-12 model. The Stone Power (DR Con Modifier) is a bit much at 2nd level. That's really like an 6th-8th level...

    D&D 5E (2014) Shield Mastery Feat

Yeah, I originally thought it was a cheesy way to try to get advantage every round but now I am starting to buy the fluid action, feel of the game argument.

    D&D 5E (2014) Shield Mastery Feat

S h i e l d M a s t e r You use shields not just for protection but also for offense. You gain the following benefits while you are wielding a shield: • If you take the Attack action on your turn, you can use a bonus action to try to shove a creature within 5 feet of you with your shield. •...

D&D 5E (2014) 5e Do How Often Do You Use Skill Checks for ‘Monster Knowledge’

We use it all the time. I generally give the type for free if you're trained. The religion guys know undead when they see it. I reskin monsters all the time so my guess frequently make checks. In 5E I usually give some important info if the pass. Recently, I reskined a vampire spawn...

D&D 5E (2014) Warlock, Pact of the Blade, Melee

Gotcha. It seems that around level 5 you should swap out hellish rebuke for armor of somebody. Can you retrain incantation s ? If not it's makes the false life one unneeded.

D&D 5E (2014) Warlock, Pact of the Blade, Melee

Is armor or someone a concentration spell? I was planning on going hex and either hellish rebuke or burning hands as my spells. Not sure the 5 damage of the armor spell is worth it.

D&D 5E (2014) Warlock, Pact of the Blade, Melee

Yeah I got that. At 1-11 the melee and range are essentially the same. At 12th the split because the EB'er keeps getting better and more rays but the melee guy only gets his CHR bonus to damage and is stuck on 2 attacks. So at 12th level the range guy has three EB bolts doing 1d10+5 and the...

D&D 5E (2014) Warlock, Pact of the Blade, Melee

Yeah, but can't convert your warlocks spells to smite right? It's "one paladin spell slot".

D&D 5E (2014) Warlock, Pact of the Blade, Melee

I didn't think Warlock's spells worked like that. Because they don't use the "chart" I don't think they work like normal multiclassed casters. They wouldn't recover their Paladin spells with the warlock recovery power.

D&D 5E (2014) Warlock, Pact of the Blade, Melee

What I am trying to do is build someone who is better swinging their sword than using EB. I went with: Mountain Dwarf 16,10,16,8,10,15 Archfiend pact 1st level spells: Hex, Hellish Rebuke 2nd level incantations: Agonizing Blast (CHA to EB damage), Fiendish Vigor (False Life as a Cantrip)...

D&D 5E (2014) How Many Magic Items Are You Planning On Handing Out?

This is what I am doing. The group I am running is 5th level and only has one magical weapon. We use potions and scrolls like they are on sale at Walmart but the permanent things are rare and special. I am thinking about having the guys in my group all design something cool and then a...
