D&D General As of 1998, 4,007,685 people played AD&D in the US, as estimated by Ben Riggs.

This one is a kind of useless conjecture. The walls between BECMI, AD&D, and 2e were more of a curb than a wall. I imagine many more played D&D of some kind, if only for a time or two. Ryan Dancey's estimate range of 8-11 million seems too high but 4 million seems to be missing some data points...

Spelljammer Hadozee: You got Starfrontiers in my Spelljammer!

I would like to also see a variety of 'fur' styles, like human hairstyles as well. I like the 3E hadozee artwork along with the 5E and Starfrontiers. I love the concept of Grodd, Gorilla City and the Ultrahumanite style characters.

Spelljammer Hadozee: You got Starfrontiers in my Spelljammer!

I would prefer if the Hadozee art leaned more heavily into the Planet of the Apes aesthetic with chimp, orangutan, and mountain gorilla-type builds and fur. I never thought of Yazirians as ape-like, I too thought they were bat people. I like this mini though. Hadozee

    D&D Movie/TV Check Out The D&D Movie's Cast -- In Costume!

Like I said the producer and the directors don't seem to be too worried about a suit and continue to advertise for Critical Role with every press junket. I doubt this was a surprise to Mercer and Co. either. There are rumors of CR cameos in the film.

D&D General Rockseer elves, why they weren't carried forward?

I like them, but really they are in a crowded design space. They are so different from other elves, they might as well not be elves. They are super tall, don't worship Corellon, and are connected with the earth and stone. Why not replace them with super xenophobic/isolationist Earth Genasi or...

Spelljammer Plasmoids! Spelljammers ooze PC dry humorists.

Now, are we talking Shmoo from Lil' Abner or Gloop and Gleep from Herculoids? Gloop and Gleep are much more heroic. Shmoo are just delicious.

    D&D Movie/TV Check Out The D&D Movie's Cast -- In Costume!

Why is this an argument? If Critical Role has an issue with the Doric character infringing on their IP rights, they will file a cease and desist or negotiate a settlement with Paramount. Considering the amount of press surrounding Sophia Lillis being an avid player of D&D and a devoted fan of...

D&D General It's really weird loving D&D and not loving the current rules.

If 5E is not thrilling you, there are plenty of other systems to scratch that itch, even digging out whichever old edition you prefer. I have jumped into running Symbaroum when I need a different feel. I find that I can't recover any joy from playing old editions of D&D. The little...

They certainly aren't duergar that's for sure. I imagined that was a Green Flame Blade cantrip.

D&D General The Owlbear Druid: How Would You Do It? (A Poll)

Druids turn into an owlbear using bear stats. Why make it hard? Let people reskin stuff to be unique as long as it doesn't interfere with everyone else.

Most likely Thayan subordinates to the Red Wizard Lich. Or less piercings Shadar Kai?

The Critical Role cast is supposed to make cameos in the movie so they may have noticed.

D&D General Darksun Adventure sales from Ben Riggs author of Slaying the Dragon

So weird to think that the fiction lines were what kept the lights on at TSR and it is no more. I wonder if the D&D brand will look to expand again into fiction sales or is it a dead industry to them? I wonder if the profit level on the fiction lines was similarly low to none after remainders...

D&D General Darksun Adventure sales from Ben Riggs author of Slaying the Dragon

That is a lot of modules sold for Dark Sun. Over 700,00 units of only 9 modules. I never bought a DS module. Who was buying modules that didn't buy the box sets?

    D&D Movie/TV Here's The D&D Movie Trailer!

Movie looks good. No Beholders guarding a cave entrance. It is unabashedly a D&D movie with all the different monsters popping up and FR NPCs. I loved seeing a black dragon puking acid all over the dwarves. I wonder if the bad guys at the end are Thayans or Shadar-Kai?
