[UPDATED] Sean K Reynolds just rehired by WotC

Judging by the many hate threads across the internet of which he is the subject, and the rejoicing that occurred when he left Paizo, I think you're probably in the minority.

    D&D 5E (2014) What should a Sorcerer do?

The 3.5E sorc at 20th had almost as many spells known for levels 1-3 (14) than the 5E sorc has total (15), and you still had to agonize over your choices. I don't think the new subclasses go far enough to make me think of the sorc as anything but a 3 level dip, if that.

D&D 5E (2014) Sorcerer vs. Wizard: Anything You Can Do I Can Do Better?

I said in another thread that the cleric, druid, and wizard (I'm going to shorten this to CDW) beat up the sorcerer and stole his lunch money. The reason to play a sorcerer when he was introduced in 3E was because he was a spontaneous caster. For those who hated the fire-and-forget, "exactly how...

    D&D 5E (2014) Limiting cantrips - advice needed

That looks like a tasty target for a rogue using Magic Initiate, or a one level dip.

    D&D 5E (2014) Limiting cantrips - advice needed

I'm not sure what you mean by "wreck the game's economy". D&D is not a JRPG. If I was a player trying to, say, burn down a door with firebolt (this seems like the kind of thing you're trying to restrict), I'd say "OK, let's roll initiative, I'm attacking the door. I got a *roll* 15.".

    D&D 5E (2014) Favored Soul: Overpowered?

The Favored Soul only gets the spells from the domain chosen, not the other features.

WotC's Nathan Stewart: "Story, Story, Story"; and IS D&D a Tabletop Game?

I don't fit neatly into either of the categories you are referring to, but I'll comment anyway. While I do fall into the "4E was not D&D" bucket, to say that I hated it would be too strong. I was disappointed that they were no longer making 3.x products, since I loved that game. I looked at the...

WotC's Nathan Stewart: "Story, Story, Story"; and IS D&D a Tabletop Game?

You could have been a playtester to affect the game in a direct way, but you also have a wallet to to affect the game indirectly. Knowing the business decisions of a company has certainly affected my buy/don't buy decisions for other products, why not RPGs? A company's decisions may not affect...

Hasbro CEO: "D&D is Really on a Tear"

    It means you're halfway there.

D&D 5E (2014) Low Level Wizards Really Do Suck in 5E

I played a sorc to 30 back in 3.0 and loved it. I want to like them in 5E, but I can't. The other full casters beat him up and stole his lunch money. The raison d'être for playing one (spontaneously casting instead of the prepared casting I always hated) has now been given to all the full...

D&D 5E (2014) Convince me we're doing the Warlock wrong

Yeah, that's the running theme with 5E. "Rulings, not rules!" Haven't you heard? *eyeroll* To be fair, even 3E was silent on how to resolve the interaction of temp hit points and PWK (at least I can't remember).

D&D 5E (2014) How many attacks should a two weapon fighter get?

Everyone here has answered as if the question was "How many attacks does a two-weapon fighter get?". I will now answer the question "How many attacks should a two-weapon fighter get?": As many as he normally gets when taking the Attack action, and then that same number of additional attacks when...

D&D 5E (2014) Convince me we're doing the Warlock wrong

That's what I was saying. I was agreeing with Chocolategravy about Extra Attack, and disagreeing with him about cantrips, since he specifically mentioned "non-multiclass characters".

D&D 5E (2014) Battlemap Vs. Theater of the Mind

What player, whose PC has access to fireball, DOESN'T try to maximize targets in the AoE? Minis or TotM, I'm going to try that. Whether the combat state is maintained on the table, or in the DM's head, I'm going to (try to) get that information. If it's on the table, I can do that when it's not...

D&D 5E (2014) Convince me we're doing the Warlock wrong

Extra Attack, yes. 2nd damage die for cantrips... I thought it was established that was based on character level, not class level, since the spell descriptions don't explicitly say class level. Is that actually true? I think that if temp hit points were considered real hit points for the...

D&D 5E (2014) Battlemap Vs. Theater of the Mind

I suppose it would. It's been a long time (over 10 years) since I've played TotM. That DM was a control freak (standing over your shoulder during your turn, insisting on keeping character sheets between sessions, etc), which has probably poisoned my view of TotM. Going to minis and a more...

D&D 5E (2014) Battlemap Vs. Theater of the Mind

As one of "those people", I'd say that any loosening up on my part can be directly attributed to having to verbally communicate with the DM for everything during my turn, which has non-negligible time costs compared with doing it all in my head when it's not my turn. The weight never comes off...

    D&D 5E (2014) eldritch knight multiclass

I think 6 levels of EK will only buy you 2 caster levels, which would put you at caster level 16, and thus you'd miss out on 9th level spells.

Hasbro CEO: "D&D is Really on a Tear"

From what I've read, cost is not a factor (at least, not the biggest factor). The big reason you likely won't see it is because the Tolkien estate won't license it, to the point that Jackson needed to be careful what non-Hobbit/LotR material he included in his movies.

D&D 5E (2014) Elemental Evil companion spells underwhelming?

I'm no longer AFB, so let's see... Nothing there mentioning saves. I would love for it to work like you think it does, but I don't think that's the case.
