    [Rules Question] Misdirected Mark

OK, that's kind of what we wondering, if there was a "generic" mark, and sounds like there is. OTOH, going back to the swordmage, if he used his aegis against the same enemy, it would still cancel out the bard's mark, right?

    [Rules Question] Misdirected Mark

Last night we were (finally) creating at least some of our characters for our 4e campaign: so far we have an eladrin swordmage, a gnome bard, and a dragonborn warden. Another player will likely be a ranger, and another likely some sort of dragonborn defender-class. So yeah, we've got a lot of...

    Magic Item Levels

Is there really any reason I need to worry about these? Since 4e came out, I haven't really dug the whole enforced level of magic items (and generally the 4e treasure system in general, really). Would eliminating the level of items and giving things out by tier (I'm still thinking of doing...

    It's now a desert

What had happened in the Malazan series to turn Raraku into a desert? Didn't it have something to do with the ice created by the Jaghut?

July 2009 - What are you reading?

I've finished my reading of The Edda and now am onto The Mabinogion. Yes, I'm on somewhat of a mythology kick right now and decided to read the old books and epics that sum up the various traditions. As an aside, does anyone know of a good, nonexpensive translation of The Mahabharata...

    Power Lists

Would it unbalance things horribly if I organized 4e powers into a number of Rolemaster-esque lists, similar to the 3e domains? I was thinking of subdividing these into heroic, paragon, and epic tier powers, and making some more powers to round out the number of powers per list. I'm also...

    World of darkness:noob questions

Hunter, I think, is more balanced if you use the alternate vampires and werewolves and such in the sourcebooks (Witch Hunters, etc.) rather than those from their lines. The other supernaturals are set up so that it's easy to shoehorn in the crunchy story and background bits from the other games...

    D&D 4E 4e / Saga

Would it upset things horribly if I were to dropkick the 4e classes and substitute in the way classes work in SW Saga? Off the top of my head, I'd think it would be OK, although I admit that I'm not the best at thinking things through the whole way. I just really dislike the endless powers and...

    Rolemaster?

So, I've been chatting with a guy at work who's fairly into this system. I've also been checking out some of the rulebooks. Looks and sounds fairly interesting, like something I wouldn't mind giving a shot. However, it looks horribly complicated. Is it, or are those mostly optional rules I...

My Attempt at Painting a GW Balrog

Thanks a ton for putting this up... I too had purchased a GW Balrog quite a bit ago and was similarly rather intimidated. As it was, I rather naïvely (and not a little ambitiously!) also used it as my experiment in blending... not the best choice of figure for that. As it was, I abandoned...

Clarification on IP/what can be safely used

What's Wizards' current web policy/guidelines/whatever? Could I call a primordial a primordial or would I need to come up with other names? What about Wizards-created terms, like eladrin? I can't make heads nor tails of the GSL, and I think that's just for publishers, anyway.

Manual of the Planes on Diamond Comics previews

The cover? IMHO it is bad. The dreadnought's pincer-arms are held out all rigid and it looks like a mummy from some low-budget Mexican movie or something.
