D&D 5E (2014) concentration in 5th edition, whats your fix?

The "fix" for concentration is to use it as written. It is one of the best rules in 5e. It is one of the key mechanics that keeps the game simple, balanced, and fun. At least, that is my 2 cents.

D&D 5E (2014) Need help making sure this class is balanced: The Alice Class for A Red and Pleasant Land

Huh? What was perfectly clear? Sorry to be ironic, but I'm confused... Yea, the whole spell known thing isn't designed to hound the DM (but I get your concerns). I wanted the DM to be able to literally pick any 3rd level spell at random. It might be a good choice, it might not, but the idea is...

Thanks. I put an updated version of the class up as an attachment.

D&D 5E (2014) Need help making sure this class is balanced: The Alice Class for A Red and Pleasant Land

I made a few edits based on feedback from other sources, but cutting and pasting is turning into a bit of a pain. Does anyone know, is there a way to attach a Word document to a post?

D&D 5E (2014) Need help making sure this class is balanced: The Alice Class for A Red and Pleasant Land

I'm currently preparing the 3rd part of a 3 part campaign for my players. In the 3rd part, they will end up traveling from their Prime Material world (a homebrew setting I call Age of Arcana) to a demiplane which is pretty much The Land the Gods Refuse to See from Zak S.'s A Red and Pleasant...

D&D 5E (2014) I'm currently building a homebrew campaign (Age of Arcana). I thought I would share the campaign map...

It is a typo! Thanks for catching it. I will fix it as soon as I can. There is, however, a Vatican analogue: West Ellohia. Likewise, there is a strong monotheistic, religious element to the setting.

D&D 5E (2014) I'm currently building a homebrew campaign (Age of Arcana). I thought I would share the campaign map...

Hehehe. The game does have pirates. Tortugal, however, is just a country; it is not the home of the pirates. EDIT: I double checked. It is super condensed! This entire map is about the size of Brittain. In any case, thanks!

D&D 5E (2014) I'm currently building a homebrew campaign (Age of Arcana). I thought I would share the campaign map...

Note: I snuck parts of the Natir Vale into this campaign, as I have adapted a few of the 4e Natir Vale quests to 5e for use in this campaign.

D&D 5E (2014) Do you roll damage for cloud of daggers when you cast it?

Thank you! That Sage Advice article is exactly what I was looking for.

D&D 5E (2014) Do you roll damage for cloud of daggers when you cast it?

It says it deals damage the first time a creature enters the area on a turn. When you cast it onto a creature, does that count as entering it on a turn?

D&D 5E (2014) Experiences with a level 6 Bard/level 4 Warlock (planning to take a 5th level of Warlock next) and a piece of epic verse...

Hey everyone. There is a lot of talk about multiclassing in these forums. Often, with spellcasting levels, the question is whether it makes sense to multiclass in a manner that drops your maximum spell level. As a level 6 Bard/4 Warlock, despite being a level 10 character, my max spell level is...

    D&D 5E (2014) Rules - Wind and arrows?

Call the wind speeds whatever you like, but in order of least influential to most influential, I would use the following effects: Disadvantage at any range. Disadvantage at any range and you cannot make long range shots. I would not use anything more complicated than that. This game chassis...

    D&D 5E (2014) Large Size PCs?

    They are still overpowered.

    D&D 5E (2014) Large Size PCs?

We know. We are telling you that these penalties are not nearly as important as you seem to believe. Most encounter maps have enough spaces that the tactical disadvantage of fighting space will rarely come into effect. Encounter budgets and practical considerations will rarely result in...

    D&D 5E (2014) Large Size PCs?

You missed the point. I was not trying to say that monstrous races don't need to try and be balanced. I was noting that the monstrous races did things like step out of the normal assumptions of class design in order to play with decisions that are either a) contentious or b) do things that are...

    D&D 5E (2014) Large Size PCs?

Yea, that design philosophy doesn't work. There is a reason stat penalties are only found on monstrous race choices, and the book calls out all the races as only being available per DM purview. Because of the way min-maxing and class build design works, the stat penalty is irrelevant. For the...

    D&D 5E (2014) Large Size PCs?

For the most part, it is sort of balanced. I am leary of a race that both a) gets +2 to two stats and b) gets +1d4 to damage dealt with all weapons. It is, however, inconsistent with the rules of the rest of the game. The DMG and MM already define large sized weapons as weapons that deal double...

    D&D 5E (2014) Large Size PCs?

This is the half giant I once made for my Dark Sun game. I found that it worked fairly well. Any character I saw built with it seemed to me to be about as balanced as a RAW character. That being said, I only had a chance to play a few Dark Sun games. I got to level 4 with one group and level 9...
