D&D 5E (2024) Next issue of Game Informer will have details on the two upcoming Forgotten Realms books

Also, the bestiary (presumably in the DM's book) is almost certainly going to be 60 - 70 pages. Every recent book with a full bestiary - Spelljammer, Planescape, Fizban's, and Bigby's - all have bestiaries in that range.

D&D 5E (2024) Next issue of Game Informer will have details on the two upcoming Forgotten Realms books

At most, it will be a very brief and macro-level overview of the setting and its various regions in the players' guide. Maybe a few pages at most. I expect the DM's book will have much fuller coverage. I'm beginning to wonder if the DM's book will be somewhat larger than the player's guide...

D&D 5E (2024) Here's The Covers of BOTH of November's Forgotten Realms Books

Wow. I got it from them right as it was released for basically cover price. I guess they had a lot more in stock at that point!

Duergar would be similar - you just remove some abilities substitute in enlarge and invisibility like the elf lineages do.

D&D 5E (2024) Next issue of Game Informer will have details on the two upcoming Forgotten Realms books

Since there's 160 extra pages, there's plenty of room for a much expanded bestiary (and the 50 one-page adventures) without infringing on the page count for other things. The bestiaries for both Spelljammer and Planescape were 64 pages; I wouldn't be surprised to see the same here.

D&D 5E (2024) Next issue of Game Informer will have details on the two upcoming Forgotten Realms books

The most noteworthy thing for me is that the monsters section here is very short; I assume the monster section in the new books will have a significantly larger page count.

D&D 5E (2024) Next issue of Game Informer will have details on the two upcoming Forgotten Realms books

I see we have quite differing views on this. We'll just have to agree to disagree.

D&D 5E (2024) Next issue of Game Informer will have details on the two upcoming Forgotten Realms books

Also, let's theorize about the 10 regions! I think: 1. The North 2. Anauroch/Cold Lands 3. Western Heartlands 4. Eastern Heartlands 5. Unapproachable East 6. Lands of Intrigue 7. Vilhon Reach/Lake of Steam 8. Old Empires 9. Chultan Penisula 10. Shining South. Maybe a paragraph or two...

D&D 5E (2024) Next issue of Game Informer will have details on the two upcoming Forgotten Realms books

With 480 pages to fill between the books, I really don't think that's going to be the case. That's 160 more pages than the 3e FRCS, which also had adventure ideas, prestige classes, and a large number full-page 3e stat blocks for NPCs. And it still found room for a full 134-page geography...

D&D 5E (2024) Next issue of Game Informer will have details on the two upcoming Forgotten Realms books

Ok, so the full gazateer is on the DM book, covering even regions outside the five deep-dive areas we already know about. Cool!

D&D 5E (2024) Next issue of Game Informer will have details on the two upcoming Forgotten Realms books

I interpreted that as 50 pages of general, non-geographic information of the setting. After gods and equipment, there wouldn't be much room left for much of an overview of the setting! Granted, that might just be basic info for the players, and the actual gazateer is in the DM book. With 480...

So, 10 for each featured region. Hopefully with a nice range of suggested levels.

D&D 5E (2024) Next issue of Game Informer will have details on the two upcoming Forgotten Realms books

I assume that's in the Player's Guide? SCAG's section on the deities of the setting was 22 pages, and was pretty decent, so I would guess something similar here. Maybe a bit longer to give more coverage for the non-human deities? And with Goliath being a base species now, maybe the giant...

Simbul’s Synostodweomer isn't new; its been around since 2e at least.

D&D 5E (2024) Next issue of Game Informer will have details on the two upcoming Forgotten Realms books

That's really good news as well. The 3e FRCS was 320 pages in total, which was what I was hoping for at minimum for the total for these two books. They've gone well beyond that!

Excellent! That definitely gives hope for future updates for other non-Western inspired areas like Mulhorand and Kara-Tur.

D&D's October Product Revealed to Be Stranger Things Tie-In

When they don't do tie-ins, they get pilloried for being stupid by throwing away easy money (and creating easy on-ramps for potential new fans). There are plenty of threads on this very forum criticizing them for not doing BG3 tie-ins at the time the game was released. The same for the D&D...

D&D 5E (2024) So what's going on with the October book?

If I'm not mistaken, that Game Informer issue comes out this coming Tuesday.
