What a refreshing post in a thread filled with the same people rehashing the same stuff the post every thread. Thank you.

    We'll disagree strongly on that.....

Dungeons & Dragons Releases New Unearthed Arcana Subclasses, Strongly Hinting at Dark Sun

If they open DS up to DMSGUILD, we don't need them to release DS as many of you want it to be...... I mean, really, there are already great DS resources out there for free. I'm not likely to love this, as I think DS is about psionics, a wasteland of a planet, and defilers who are killing all...

Dungeons & Dragons Releases New Unearthed Arcana Subclasses, Strongly Hinting at Dark Sun

the other thing I think about surveys? Sales are driven by emotion and excitement, not balance and min/maxing.......they want to know what people FEEL about the UA more than the actual balance stuff....

Almost none of that applies to enemies who will be dead in four rounds. For themselves? I like the option of damaging yourself, that's cool. I can live with that as a start. Or course, it doesn't start until level three....I understand the design reasons why, doesn't mean I like it.

Dungeons & Dragons Releases New Unearthed Arcana Subclasses, Strongly Hinting at Dark Sun

This also seems weird to me. It's a game largely about killing things, but slavery is bad? It's like the US being obsessed with sex in movies, but ok with violence....

Dungeons & Dragons Releases New Unearthed Arcana Subclasses, Strongly Hinting at Dark Sun

Sure, I meant mechanics all the way. Hence my comments we can still tell good stories.... How sucking the life from a creature doesn't damage it is beyond me. Also, the whole point of defiling, for players, is having to make a choice about damaging the land, in a lesser evil or not way. For...

There was just an entire thread on this.

That's the only really new thing for me. You also have to be sixth level for that to start...... Which, most campaigns end by level seven....

Dungeons & Dragons Releases New Unearthed Arcana Subclasses, Strongly Hinting at Dark Sun

As usual, the subclasses are fine, but mostly boring. I really think 5e is stuck in a very design conservative pattern, that is boring. Good thing we can still tell interesting fiction, and other companies are giving us more to work with.

    Other D&D Variant Nimble 5e

I agree a MM would be good.....the owner of Nimble is discussing doing one. .the dev dropping out of the vtt support really hurt.

I like that adventure a lot. There is a lot of stuff in this one that is close to good, and with tweaks, is useful.

    13th Age 13th Age 2E update!

The final PDFs are quite nice. Haven't read them in detail yet. If I was going to play a more complex game, I think this would win over Draw Steel, but I'm not sure. Will spend the winter reading both and not playing both (though we'll likely finish part of the Delian Tomb playtest).......

    Other D&D Variant Nimble 5e

I am very disappointed that the dev working on the system for Foundry bailed......but he was likely not getting paid enough for the amount of work. Hopefully someday the community will get this all up and running. Though, I'll say, it is my in person group that is more likely to move to Nimble...
