D&D General Harshest House Rule (in use)?

"If you die, you leave the table permanently." It wasn't stated outright, but the DM simply didn't allow it. If you died, another player at the FLGS got the spot and you couldn't play in that game anymore. You were allowed back if they started a new campaign, which sometimes happened if...

    D&D 5E (2024) So how do you remove disease in 5E 2024?

2024 Paladin also has the word disease removed from Lay on Hands, and the Poisoned condition doesn't mention diseases. So either diseases are wrapped up in the Poisoned condition now, or my Paladin of Sune can't go down to the brothels and cure anyone as an act of kindness.

D&D 5E (2024) Dancing bards and true strike.

Just minor things like Defense Inspiration, Medium Armor, and Shields helping against attack traps or gauntlets.

D&D 5E (2024) Dancing bards and true strike.

I agree, since I come at it from a completely different angle. I look at the Dance Bard and think of how many abilities are useful outside of combat, the other 66% of the game. You've got Dance Virtuoso at 3rd, and then... Leading Evasion at 14th.

D&D 5E (2024) Rogues can now Sneak Attack with all thrown weapons - Tridents, Spears, Handaxes, they all work!

The only way I can see this working is if you assume "a Ranged weapon" means the Range property because the prior example (Finesse) is also a property. As opposed to the category of weapons called "Ranged Weapons."

D&D General Class based off animated music video

The only thing we really saw was Athletics, and whatever happened when he drank the goblet. You could be an Oath of Glory Paladin just strutting around looking stoic while you perform mighty athletic deeds, with your aura helping you save against drinking the goblet. Some kind of War Cleric...

D&D General Warlocks: Charisma vs Intelligence

This is morbidly hilarious, and now I have ample justification to add caffeine to my broth from here on out! :coffee:

D&D General Warlocks: Charisma vs Intelligence

"It's not a sandwich, your honor! I don't have to adhere to the US FDA safety regulations for sandwiches!" But I agree the government is probably far less interested in culinary utility, and far more interested in not creating separate rules for every minor variation of bread + stuff. 🌭

D&D General Warlocks: Charisma vs Intelligence

We're literally talking about fluff here, like two people arguing about whether or not a hot dog counts as a sandwich or not. We're looking at the same thing and saying "Yeah, that makes perfect sense for intelligence" and "No, that doesn't seem like intelligence at all" at the exact same time...

D&D General Warlocks: Charisma vs Intelligence

But finding the lore is brought up so many times in the Warlock description, it seems to be a very important part of the class narrative. Just look at this! "In no time, each Warlock is drawn into a binding pact with a powerful patron. Drawing on the ancient knowledge of beings such as angels...

D&D General Warlocks: Charisma vs Intelligence

Some Warlocks research the location of buried tombs, uncover ancient secrets within them, carefully decipher the meaning of those secrets, risk going mad understanding the knowledge they have unlocked, and only then begin the process of making a pact. And that pact? It doesn't have to be...

D&D General Warlocks: Charisma vs Intelligence

The descriptions are mostly fine as is, since they describe the most common kinds of people who end up in those classes. The bell curve of class : personalities so to speak! I just keep in mind the "Not All" rule of thumb. Not all furious fighters are barbarians. Not all sneaking pickpockets are...

D&D General Warlocks: Charisma vs Intelligence

I personally don't think narratives MUST be tied to a specific class. For example, I strongly believe a backstory about a god granting you power could be expressed though Cleric, Paladin, Warlock, or a few other options. At no point do I say "No, that can only be a Cleric. No Warlocks allowed."...

D&D General Warlocks: Charisma vs Intelligence

Int to uncover dark secrets, decrypt an ancient book, make sure your hell contract has all the necessary clauses without condemning you utterly, or understand things no mortal was ever meant to learn. Cha to persuade the eldritch force to grant you anything at all, to hold onto your sense of...

    D&D 5E (2024) PHB 2024 Channel Divinity Question

Two separate naps. It feels way different than a single one hour nap. I deal with this on a daily basis. The result in game is the exact opposite, though!
