Human Monks can take Improved Natural Attack?

No, it literally 'is' one step. The difference in base weapon damage has no bearing on my comparison. They each do effectively the same thing in that area, one step of increase. The monk gets a higher base damage for other balance reasons (more difficult to get weapon bonuses, less BAB, etc)...

Human Monks can take Improved Natural Attack?

Which means that it increases by one step. When it says, 'increases by one step' I think that I am perfectly justified in saying, 'increases by one step'. If you feel that stating exactly what the rules state is incorrect then I dont know what to say other than I disagree and feel that you are...

Human Monks can take Improved Natural Attack?

So you are saying that it increases by more than one step.. even though it says it increases by one step? With the part I did not bold, but I did quote, the statement I made still does not change. It is still a single step of increase. Also, as I said before, one could make a case for the...

Human Monks can take Improved Natural Attack?

Since the increase that INA gives is pretty much the definition of a single step I would have to say that your statement is rather incorrect. Emphasis mine.

Human Monks can take Improved Natural Attack?

Just stopping by to drop a little comment ;) Improved natural attack is very much like the monks (or other creatures with natural attacks) version of exotic weapon proficiency. Both can increase the damage of a single weapon by 1 step (some are exotic because they are weird, but a good amount...

    Psion power balance questions

Ahh.. those are points I had meant to make as well.. bah.. got lost in the pile. Thanks staffan ;) And zimbel, that thread plus its predecessor are indeed pretty nice. Although they take a whole lot of reading to dig through. Also, with the summons they tend to have a lot of little abilities...

    Psion power balance questions

Just 5? ok ;) Saying that psychic reformation is borderline overpowered because it can be used to get rid of less useful feats seems a bit misleading. Two characters of identical class, race, etc who have chosen feats slightly differently should be of a roughly equivalent overall powerlevel. If...

    Psion power balance questions

Come on basalisk, unless you think that people should not go to sources where people actually know what they are talking about then you are merely blowing hot air where it shouldnt go. Several people here have stated things which are blatantly wrong, and other things which are highly...

    Psion power balance questions

Given the amount of incorrect, or at least misleading, information that is in this thread I would suggest that you also go to the psionics boards and ask them for their opinion about these things along with any others you may think of: Psionics They are generally very good about giving...

Using Action Points in a "Vanilla" DND Campaign

For the most part I left things unchanged. You can turn one in for various benefits (such as a boost to a single d20 roll), or two in for an extra use of a class ability per day (such as an extra rage or some such), plus the feats to enhance them (one feat to make the rolls d8's instead of...

Using Action Points in a "Vanilla" DND Campaign

I simply hate the 'refresh per level' abilities. To me it would be just as bad to give a caster type X spell levels of spells and they will only get more with level up or a fighter type only Y hp before next level, better hope you get it in time! I use a slightly modified system and it gives...

Human Monks can take Improved Natural Attack?

Assumption of implications that might be something within part of the RAW somewhere seem to be much less useful than something that is stated explicitly in the RAW ;)

Human Monks can take Improved Natural Attack?

well, the rule does specifically state vs the others 'it might imply this', so yeah.. Much like the handcrossbow rule from 3.0 in my mind ;)

Human Monks can take Improved Natural Attack?

Wasnt it the exotic weapon master who had some of his rules state that he was allowed to do 1.5x weapon damage while weilding an exotic weapon in two hands or something like that? Basically something that could be done anyway. Should we then assume that the implication is that you could not...

Human Monks can take Improved Natural Attack?

Definately. I would like to see a point by point proof of how a feat is not an effect as well. Until then, the rules quote that says feats are effects rules over all.

Human Monks can take Improved Natural Attack?

tokens are money in the arcade but not outside of the arcade, of course. But then, if they are always considered money inside then you could use them to buy other things than just video games. Or, you could even use them for more than one video game. As long as you are inside of the arcade it...

Human Monks can take Improved Natural Attack?

My guess? the person who wrote the one who only said 'orc' realized the orc blood would take care of the halforc while the one who wrote the other did not realize that. Or, they forgot about orc blood completely. Either of those are possible, neither contradicts the raw. Providing 'too much'...

Human Monks can take Improved Natural Attack?

In other words, for the comparison with ina, you are currently missing the +4 BAB requirement so even though you qualify as having a natural weapon you still cant pick it up yet. But if you could somehow bypass the +4 BAB requirement you would be home free.

Human Monks can take Improved Natural Attack?

I think I found the part you were refering to. We have this: So, is the feat in question something that relates to the race? The feat is an effect already, so now we just have to figure out if the feat is related to the race. If it isnt then it is not an effect related to the race. I could...
