Can a monk take Improved Natural Attack? - Official answer

Now, I am not an english major, but to me this just 'feels' wrong. Can anyone explain why it is correct or incorrect by english standards? In my mind it is the 'or other' that is really killing your arguement. If I was to take out the lion, tiger, and panter from your sentence it should still...

Can a monk take Improved Natural Attack? - Official answer

I dont see any other way to read it if we are still useing the english language to parse it. If there is another way to read it feel free to explain.

Can a monk take Improved Natural Attack? - Official answer

So I have a rule that says explicitly that they are effects. But that isnt good enough? When did we leave the rules forum?

Can a monk take Improved Natural Attack? - Official answer

Feats generate effects and they 'are' effects, all at the same time. As my ealier rules quote proves explicitly. Also, please take my name off of the quote as you changed what I had said. It is pretty insulting as written to have words changed and attributed incorrectly.

Practiced Spellcaster + Wild Mage = CL?

Given the wording of each I could see either 2 or 3 being how it works. Although for balance purposes I'd likely choose 2 over 3. I'd look at it like this: Everytime the guy casts a spell he has several modifiers on his caster level. -3 from the wild mage, +4 from the feat (with a specific...

Can a monk take Improved Natural Attack?: The Poll!

If we take your 'entire class' to mean 'specific type of build' then there are litereally tons of feats which would violate your conditions. Such as improved trip being fairly necissary for those who wish to trip people. Or twf being necissary for those who want to fight with two weapons at the...

Can a monk take Improved Natural Attack?: The Poll!

Umm.. no, not if we are useing english. 'I have blue, white, and red apples' does not mean that blue = white, but it does mean that I have some blue apples, some white apples, and some red apples. In this case it says, 'feat, class feature, or other permanent effect'. This means that a feat...

Can a monk take Improved Natural Attack?: The Poll!

Looks like feats are considered to be effects to me ;)

    Ex-Paladin Monk Build

Paladin4/Monk2/Warmind10 16th level character, human. Str 10 Dex 12 Con 14 Int 12 Wis 18 Cha 18 I'd go with the VoP as Thanee suggested. Mainly to fit with what you said better, but it could be adjusted to not use this of course. 1st level feats: Sacred Vow (+2 sacred bonus to diplomacy...

Can a monk take Improved Natural Attack? - Official answer

Except that the rules state that monks weapons are treated as natural weapons for effects that enhance them and that feats are effects. So, putting the two together means that they can take it.

Can a monk take Improved Natural Attack? - Official answer

Oddly, I still havent seen any real raw that supports the position of not being able to take ina with a monk on his unarmed strike attacks. I think that between how the wording works and other feats which suggest that feats 'are' effects that it is crystal clear. I really do not see the...

    Psychic claws

Of course that is in context with magical weapons. So if you make a weapon bigger it doesnt change its magical/psionical effects. As in, flaming doesnt deal more/less damage than it did before. I dont see this as following. Unless you also believe that a weapon that goes from size medium to...

    Argh!! Useless Rogues

Most rogues I have seen tend to have high ints as well and I allow a feat which grants the humans '+1 skill point each level' ability so some even take that as well. Human rogue, 16 int, with that feat = 13 maxed out skills to choose from. That is a 'very' impressive skill set. Generally though...

Poll: Enforce the Standard Action to activate Energy Properties?

Nail, I believe he meant holding a bunch (lets say 50) wands all at once with the same command word and popping them all at the same time. Of course, I could be mistaken ;)

    Marshal [MiniHB] Build

I have seen quite a few characters who dipped into the class, but none who took it more than level 5 or so. The class is very nice, and its auras are very powerful, but after a few levels in it you just dont get much more punch out of it. As a prc in the last campaign I helped the marshal...

Poll: Enforce the Standard Action to activate Energy Properties?

odd.. double.. weird. But anyway, I guess the only way it would matter is if the party wanted the 'flaming' or whatever to not be apparent.. as in not be visible ;)

Poll: Enforce the Standard Action to activate Energy Properties?

I definately require the actions to activate and deactivate. But it has never mattered.. just get a decent sheeth and the hardness will make it ignore the elemental damage anyway.

    Warlocks Flee the Scene solo?

retrieving something from a pack and picking up an item are moves action and yet picking someone up who wants to be picked up is standard action? I disagree ;) In fact, I would likely allow it as 'part' of a move action. Pick them up and move at the same time by making them hop a little into...

    Fire Elemental question

For those that are for the 'massive damage from being in water' what sort of damage would it be? is it subject to DR? Can it be rested in some way? What sort of spells would allow for no damage to be taken? What about partial exposure instead of complete submersion? There are a lot of...

Warforged and the Monk - doable?

If I remember correctly some part of the warforged description specifically calls out that his normal body does not interfere with monks abilities..although I could be mistaken ;)
