Discussion: Devils and Demons in L4W Cosmology

Exactly. As I don't actually use the KoJ, it's really not my argument, but I personally feel that stats are stats. If I wanted to, I could take the stats for a destrachan and call it a Care Bear. It would then be a distinct and different creature, in my book. As long as the characters...

Discussion: Devils and Demons in L4W Cosmology

Just because all Oni are demons, does not mean all demons are Oni. I have to agree with THB on this one - Saying all Demons are Oni is like saying all backgrounds/homelands are similar. They are not. They have similarities, and every homeland is a homeland, but the Isle of Bone is very...

Hmmm. I am also using that conflict in the adventure I'm planning, and I am considering using the Blood War. Mind sharing notes?

Discussion: Devils and Demons in L4W Cosmology

The thing I see as most important (because it directly relates to me), is the use of the monsters in the monster manuals. Immortals are the gods and their servants, Infernals or Devils are the Lawful-Evil fiends, and Demons are Fiends that are lumped in with the Primordials and their Elemental...

    The Upcoming Adventures thread

How does the L4W pantheon interact with 4e's view of the planes? Has interplanar adventuring been adressed yet? Do we have a precedent for dealing with elementals/immortals/etc, as defined in 4e? I'm working on my first adventure now, and I'm working on restructuring some monsters to be...

Lord Ogglebottoms Odd Tasks: All in a Nights Work (DM: DMDanW, Judge: Renau1g)

"You hope I appreciate your behaving like a civilized being rather than a wild beast? Well, I'll admit it's a nice change." Minharath says under his breath. He stands half-obscurred behind the corner, minimizing his exposure to the enemy, while keeping an eye on his allies. I'm going to use...

Make it A-10. Just close enough to see all allies. Then done.

    The Upcoming Adventures thread

Is there a thread that explains planning/submitting an adventure? I have an Idea I'm looking forward to using, but I've never GM'd via PbP before, and I'm not sure where to start. (There's probably a wiki post somewhere, but as has been mentioned before, I fail at wiki)

I'm sorry, I missed that. Sounds good. Who are we waiting on? (btw, My action will be to move to A9, but I don't want to take it until everyone else's had a turn, in case I need to do healing this turn.

Please remember to note in your posts whether or not you are using lethal force. Thank you.

Lord Ogglebottoms Odd Tasks: All in a Nights Work (DM: DMDanW, Judge: Renau1g)

"I suggest you comply with their demands, gentlemen. To much blood stains this night already. Unrestrained by reasonable sensibilities my companions may be, but there is no denying their skill in butchery. For your own sakes, lay down your arms. Lauto has enough new tenants this day."...

Adventure: The Power of Knowledge (DM: Fragsie, Judge: TwoHeadsBarking)

If I'm alone, I'll have to go to the temple first, as carrying two kids at once could get... unwieldy.

Lord Ogglebottoms Odd Tasks: All in a Nights Work (DM: DMDanW, Judge: Renau1g)

Please don't wait on my account. Assuming I can clearly see Gloom to heal him, I'm happy where I am, for now.

"No, allow me. I also promised to take the other child to the temple, and the Matron will recognize me. Better that I show up asking for the child than a stranger."

Adventure: The Power of Knowledge (DM: Fragsie, Judge: TwoHeadsBarking)

"In this part of the city, the only kind of tracks they'll have left behind are in the people. Nothing goes on down here that someone doesn't see. The problem will be figuring out who knows what we need - and convincing them to share it with us."

Adventure: The Power of Knowledge (DM: Fragsie, Judge: TwoHeadsBarking)

"I was afraid of this," Andrec says as he gently scoops the boy up. "Either we split up here, or we take him with us. I'm not fond of either plan. Ideas?"

Adventure: The Power of Knowledge (DM: Fragsie, Judge: TwoHeadsBarking)

Though nothing was to be found in the dark of the night, Andrec did notice a few places that might bear closer inspection upon the return of life. I'll provide that check. Perception Check (1d20+3=11)

Lord Ogglebottoms Odd Tasks: All in a Nights Work (DM: DMDanW, Judge: Renau1g)

Minharath speaks from the doorway, as he returns. "You hate it? The respecting of intelligent life? Is that the law you live by - he who errs, dies? Your world is a dark and unforgiving one, and not a place I would choose for myself. I Nor do I well like being 'tolerated.' Already you have...

Adventure: The Power of Knowledge (DM: Fragsie, Judge: TwoHeadsBarking)

My characters have both been sitting a while waiting for approval. I know the judges are busy, but hearing nothing for a month makes me wonder if there's something I could be doing to help the process. If a Judge could take a look @ my characters, it would be appreciated.

Lord Ogglebottoms Odd Tasks: All in a Nights Work (DM: DMDanW, Judge: Renau1g)

Bowing stiffly, Minharath responds "As you wish." He turns to the dwarf, helps him to his feat, and marches him out to the alleyway.
