That's definitely closer but considering it wasn't released until 2008. It isn't that one. But THAT is much closer to the content and style.

D&D General Original photo of David A. Trampier with his cab, found.

So for those that don't know Dave was the night cabbie in Carbondale, Illinois, which just happens to be about 15 mins north of my home and the HQ for True Dungeon which I was working for at the time. (I know, right?). When he died Jeff Martin tried very hard to get a hold of his paintings...

Sexy. But the stylized flag banners look like some sort of weirdly colored monster guts or multi colored worms. lol (not due to a bad paint job mind you just the roundness of the sculpt)

D&D General Fighters of Fantasy Literature - Tier List and Ranking! (Vote once per day through February 14th).

I would vote to add The Grey Mouser to the list because while both he and Fafhrd are thieves they are also swordsmen beyond equal. Also I would vote to move them up since in the later tales it is obvious they have moved through time and among worlds and are still among the very best. Also...

D&D General When Things Go Awry, Who's At Fault?

My cousin Myrna, because everything's her fault. (It's a running family joke.) Honestly, how about all of the above. Because at any one point they all apply. And for that reason I checked everything.

D&D General Alleged disgruntled NuTSR insider spills the beans.

I think TSR was cursed back in the 70s when Mr Kaye died. They haven't ever really had anything but business strife since then.. What? It makes as much sense as any of the crap that's been floated over the last 50 years.

Why do Americans pronounce centaurs "centars"???

Oh, regional dialects. My children were both unlucky enough to grow up in Maryland. It took me forever to teach them the word crayon. Me: CRAY-on kids: crown. Me; No... CRAY-on kids: CR-own. ME: Friggn' Frassin' Russin' Mussin....

Best history book on swords, axes, maces etc ?

I don't believe Jane's actually published it, it's ust the closest thing I could equate to. In depth amd detailed. Don't have a publishing year, sri. That's been almost 40 years ago. Wow I'm getting old.

is the ttrpg market swamped now? could you write a winner?

Market swamped??? By no means. After going to GenCon every year from 2005 - 2017 I can say there are literally hundreds released every year. Most never see the light of day, those that do rarely last. D&D, and Pathfinder are just about the longest lasting. Others come go and return, (Star...

Best history book on swords, axes, maces etc ?

There was a book similar to the Jane's Ship series just entitled 'Weapons' that literally stared with the club and worked up to armor (tanks not the stuff you wear). I have looked for that book for ages to no avail. If 13 yo Thunderfoot were still in HS he'd check it out of the library for you.

    Is GenCon still worth it?

I went in 2005 as a 'once in a lifetime experience' and birthday present. I did True Dungeon (back when they still had woodies) and volunteered to play the music for the winners for some award show or other. lol (ENnies) That became a yearly pilgrimage until 2017 where I became the audio...
