In the episode's DVD/BD commentary and elsewhere, Peter Davison has complained about 'Black Orchid' being a nondescript period drama that shouldn't have been made as a Doctor Who episode. (Personally I loved it... on first watch, as a 12 year old.)

I saw a used softcover reprint Fiend Folio for sale at Half Price Books this week. They were asking $30 for it! 🤣 (DM’s Guild is selling ‘em new for $9.99.)

I like the feel and look of these POD 1e manuals much better than the ‘Deluxe’ versions they reprint. The page layout, paper, and ink in these POD’s seems closer to the beloved original manuals, IMO.

If I were playing BX or AD&D with milestones now, I’d probably just pick arbitrary chunks of 1,000 xp or whatever, given the complexities of class xp tables, muliticlassing, dual classing, etc.

I’d love to see Lalla Ward show up as Romana at some point! (Except: my headcanon does not include any of Romana’s Extended Universe book/audio adventures, and certainly not her becoming Lord President. I imagine her as E-Space’s adventuring Doctor.)
