    D&D General Dragon Talk?

No; I was searching for anything about Dragon Talk’s extended absence yesterday, and found no explanation. Didn’t find anything about Tito or Shelly re: employment/unemployment, either.

    Unpopular Geek Media Opinions

Yes. Though I long-ago found Bard and his Black Arrow one of the more implausible, sudden, weak, and/or disappointing parts of the book - and esp. of Rankin-Bass’s film and the storybook album(!) which were my first exposures to The Hobbit. It seemed so quick and easy.

    Unpopular Geek Media Opinions

The best Hobbit film IMO is Rankin-Bass’s. The one other Hobbit film I enjoy is “M4’s ‘The Hobbit’ Book Edit.” M4 did a fabulous job crafting a good, modern Hobbit movie. To do so, they used about half of Peter [fixed] Jackson’s three official Hobbit films, and did some very clever editing...

There are four Hobbit movies. (Or was that four lights?)

I second your unpopular opinion! Adric was wonderful. Probably because I was a sad, math-nerdy 11-year-old who discovered and fell in love with Doctor Who through Full Circle, State of Decay, and Warriors’ Gate. I so wanted to be Adric, escaping to somewhere more interesting than where I...

I watched the Rosa Parks ep, and liked it. I’ll check out the other you suggest.

    Unpopular Geek Media Opinions

Is this an unpopular opinion? I’m kinda glad I don’t know what you’re talking about here; you’re making me thankful I’ve only watched a handful of the Chibnall-helmed episodes. (Nothing at all to slight Jodie Whittaker. I’ve thought she was great in everything I saw. But I generally didn’t like...

Doctor Who Ncuti Gatwa Xmas Special & s1

Elizabeth Sandifer likes Love and Monsters, and expounds circumlocutiously about it here: https://www.eruditorumpress.com/blog/their-little-groups-love-and-monsters (I had to search elsewhere for a concise confirmation that her opinion was positive: "Love and Monsters was, in many ways, the gem...

Perhaps Mr. Martin might arrange for Brandon Sanderson to finish it after he passes? That worked out pretty well for Robert Jordan’s opus.

    Erol Otus sneakers are cool.* *: I am a 54-year-old dad/nerd.

Doctor Who 60th Anniversary Specials [[SPOILERS!!]]

They cut a lot more than that! The Daleks was a 7-parter, running 171 minutes. Losing six sets of credits only loses about 9 of those minutes.

    Dragon Reflections #72

I like that Parkinson’s cavalier switches hands between those two illustrations. Inigo (and Wesley) would be proud!

    Political ads running on site

Google selects ads for this middle-aged guy based largely on the browsing habits of the queer enby 14-year-old who shares my home. It’s a rollercoaster of suprises.

D&D General This week on HOW-I-RUN-IT.com: VF5E: Homebrewing my own D&D

Thank you! I’ve forever loved U1, but I’ve avoided running U1-U3 because my one playing experience with U2 was an absolute mess, and I couldn’t figure out how I could do it any better. You have excellent suggestions there for making the Lizardfolk interactions more directed and comprehensible.

Sadly going to be the first of many - estate sales with tons of stuff we nerds love

If I'm lucky, my son will want, love, (and maybe even read/play) it all. Fingers crossed. He's very interested in and reads/rereads the (3e-to-5e) lore books directed at kids, but his busy schedule (school, gymnastics team, choir, orchestra, band, reading, and especially Lego building. Whew!)...

Dunno. I was still a student when I started lurking around this site, and all of a sudden I’m retired, and my dad will turn 80 in a few months.

Planescape Manual of the Planes for 5e on DMSGuild

The preview looks great. I’d be interested in a print (POD) version, as I rarely read PDF’s for fun.
