Wow. Seeing 'Brian May''s credit on MM2, I'd always assumed it was a side project by Sir Brian May CBE, aka 'of Queen fame'. I mean, Queen did do the Flash Gordon score around the same time. Admittedly, that gonzo soundtrack sounded absolutely nothing like the relatively traditional MM2 score.
