2024 - What's your AC Set At Poll?

For me, it’s usually the humidity that gets to me, not the temperature. We pretty much only use a window AC unit in our bedroom to lower the sleeping temperature - and especially the humidity - when needed. In dry weather, I can sleep okay at 78 or lower. In humid weather, I ask the AC for 70°...

    D&D 5E (2024) Multiclassing in D&D 2024

I am totally open to having those various characters in a party. But mixing 2+ of those in a single character? That’s going to be rough.

D&D General Professor DM from Dungeon Craft has a special message…

Thanks. Very good to hear. I’m not in a place where I am prepared to cope with any YouTube videos right now.

D&D General Professor DM from Dungeon Craft has a special message…

I really hope his cancer is on the treatable/curable end of the spectrum. Also that he has access to whatever health care would give him the best chance at that.

D&D General Professor DM from Dungeon Craft has a special message…

Girls, enby’s, et al.: also get checked. My wife had a baby cancer removed this week. Standard screening (and follow-up) caught it early, so it is unlikely to ever trouble her again. (🤞🤞)

Moria Campaign Module Coming for TOR2e and LotR 5e

Cool! No shipping notice for me yet, but I had a few add-ons, including a couple cloth maps, so I doubt I’ll be early on the list.

Nice! Did you receive a shipping notice first? (I have not yet.)

    AD&D 1E Favorite Obscure Rules from TSR-era D&D

Strangely, though all my friends’ UA’s seemed to have terrible bindings, the only problem with my original Unearthed Arcana was that some idiot did a bad job gluing in all those errata bits over the original text. And cut up pages of my Dragon Magazine to do so.

What Do YOU Call This Food?

They do in Northfield School District! It was apparently my daughter’s favorite - as she was recalling it fondly to me the other night. But I’m not a Townie/Minnesotan, as I have only been here 20-ish years. 😉

I slowly destroyed my original ones. My later replacements are in excellent condition.

What Do YOU Call This Food?

I call that an abomination. If those were Doritos, my children would call that a ‘Walking Taco’ because that’s what their school lunch program here in Minnesota calls it. 🤷🏾‍♂️ But my kids insist Walking Tacos must only be made with Nacho Cheese-flavored Doritos.

After a bit of use, the DMG’s binding guided itself toward opening to the key pages.

Page tabs were essential to make the 1e DMG usable at the table. And/or just photocopying the most frequently-referenced pages.

D&D General Where is the tv/movie drama about G. Gygax?

Erol Otus must design at least one segment.

    AD&D 1E Favorite Obscure Rules from TSR-era D&D

So true! I ran an Unearthed Arcana Barbarian, a 1e PHB Cleric, and a bunch of 2e Skills-and-Powers characters through the 1e Temple of Elemental Evil under mostly-2e rules. It was no problem at all. And we were always trying out new (and old) rules to see if they were better than whatever was...

D&D General Forgive my blasphemy: downplaying the Grayhawk gods

Our Greyhawk campaign predated the publishing of the Greyhawk gods. We generally associated the Norse pantheon with Suel, Greek pantheon with Oeridians, and IIRC animism and whatnot for the Flan. Plus various cults of this, that, or the other as needed. It was great! But there was little...

    AD&D 1E Favorite Obscure Rules from TSR-era D&D

Man, a decent answer was right there… and then they went and created that monstrously unwieldy grappling section anyway. The recent “When We Were Wizards” podcast has some possibly-relevant recollections of how the DMG was produced.
