Giving the PCs encouragement to murder an innocent person might be the most awful, stupid thing I've ever seen in an adventure. I don't recall even the most edgelord OSR games doing anything that bad, and I have eyerolled at some of those so hard I caused a sonic boom.

But 2e was done to screw Gygax out of royalties, if I remember correctly. And 2e barely even changed the rules. The other three edition changes were vast, dramatic shifts in the ruleset, but not 1e to 2e.

Me too. I hate hate hate hate the phrase "discipline points". It's so bland and generic. If we can't call them "ki" any more, can we at least get a better name? Life points? Soul points?

Monks now effectively have double the ki/discipline points. That's really, really strong. And there are lot of other buffs, too, like being able to grapple with dexterity and deflect/redirect melee attacks. I wouldn't worry -- the new monk looks like a house.

This is my favorite playtest packet yet. Monk looks great -- ki points (or, ahem, discipline points) have effectively been doubled, which automatically makes the monk massively more fun and strong. Druid seems to be finally in a good spot, assuming that the PH will have enough options for...

I really like Golarian, the default world for Pathfinder. There's a little bit of everything, so no matter what environment you crave, there's a place that fits. The history is wonderfully rich but has enough fuzzy spots that you can put your own ideas in without contradicting "canon" history...
