D&D General US Postal Service Releases D&D Stamps

My friend. We may be RPGers, but we gotta have some standards. :ROFLMAO:

D&D General US Postal Service Releases D&D Stamps

Funny...I was just reading a thread here from 2012 in which people were debating whether or not Dungeons and Dragons was close to death. I'll take that as a no!

D&D 5E (2024) New Unearthed Arcana Playtest Includes Barbarian, Druid, and Monk

Apparently not. Too bad. Okay then -- does anyone know of a blank character sheet that's good for playtest characters? I think every character sheet I know of only has one line for melee attacks, which doesn't really work with weapon masteries. Surely someone has done up a char sheet which is...

Raiders of the Serpent Sea - Third Party 5E Review

Giving the PCs encouragement to murder an innocent person might be the most awful, stupid thing I've ever seen in an adventure. I don't recall even the most edgelord OSR games doing anything that bad, and I have eyerolled at some of those so hard I caused a sonic boom.

D&D 5E (2024) New Unearthed Arcana Playtest Includes Barbarian, Druid, and Monk

Are there any pregen characters online that use the playtest rules? I can't find any with Google, but I thought someone here might have a lead.

D&D General Ben Riggs Shares 2001 D&D 3.0 Core Book Sales.

But 2e was done to screw Gygax out of royalties, if I remember correctly. And 2e barely even changed the rules. The other three edition changes were vast, dramatic shifts in the ruleset, but not 1e to 2e.

Raiders of the Serpent Sea - Third Party 5E Review

There's so much about this adventure path that's intriguing and cool. But according to your review, the campaign starts with some dude hiring the party to investigate a thing, which... ugh. I never want to see that trope again. Is that as boring as it sounds? Also, yes, that tower map is...

D&D 5E (2024) New Unearthed Arcana Playtest Includes Barbarian, Druid, and Monk

Agree. It's a very simple and elegant solution to the problem of overly powerful wildshape options in the MM... or worse, in future publications.

D&D 5E (2024) New Unearthed Arcana Playtest Includes Barbarian, Druid, and Monk

Wow, we made it all the way to page 13 before someone made this comment. Nice job! But seriously... It's really 5.5, which I suspect is what people will end up calling it.

D&D 5E (2024) New Unearthed Arcana Playtest Includes Barbarian, Druid, and Monk

Me too. I hate hate hate hate the phrase "discipline points". It's so bland and generic. If we can't call them "ki" any more, can we at least get a better name? Life points? Soul points?

D&D 5E (2024) New Unearthed Arcana Playtest Includes Barbarian, Druid, and Monk

Monks now effectively have double the ki/discipline points. That's really, really strong. And there are lot of other buffs, too, like being able to grapple with dexterity and deflect/redirect melee attacks. I wouldn't worry -- the new monk looks like a house.

D&D 5E (2024) New Unearthed Arcana Playtest Includes Barbarian, Druid, and Monk

This is my favorite playtest packet yet. Monk looks great -- ki points (or, ahem, discipline points) have effectively been doubled, which automatically makes the monk massively more fun and strong. Druid seems to be finally in a good spot, assuming that the PH will have enough options for...

    Your Dream Campaign

I think maybe I already did it. Three years ago, when the country was shut down by a deadly pandemic and New York City was being rocked by riots, I decided I wanted to run the Pathfinder adventure path "Curse of the Crimson Throne." For those not familiar: it begins with a city rocked by riots...

What Is Your Favorite Campaign Setting?

I really like Golarian, the default world for Pathfinder. There's a little bit of everything, so no matter what environment you crave, there's a place that fits. The history is wonderfully rich but has enough fuzzy spots that you can put your own ideas in without contradicting "canon" history...

    Unpopular Geek Media Opinions

Speaking of Cthulhu and unpopular geek opinions: Lovecraft was a terrible author. The only decent thing he wrote was The Colour Out of Space. Everything else was overwrought, hacky, purple prose bullsh*t. The only reason he's remembered at all today is that he allowed other, better authors to...

    Unpopular Geek Media Opinions

He wrote a mashup of Sherlock Holmes and Cthulhu called A Study in Emerald which is an absolute masterpiece. I think it's the best Cthulhu mythos story ever written by any author, and also the best Sherlock story ever written by any author, Conan Doyle included. It's truly brilliant. (Be warned...

D&D Movie/TV Chris Pine tells Gamesradar+ he's "pretty confident" Honor Among Thieves sequel will happen

Sadly, you can't take an actor's statements like this one at face value. Henry Cavill once said there would be a sequel to Man From U.N.C.L.E., but there was never any chance of that happening -- even before Armie Hammer became persona non grata. (Too bad, because that movie was a blast)...
