    Shadowdark Shadowdark General Thread [+]

Honestly, the cover would be okay if not for the one on the left. Sexy female vampires aren't necessary so bad, but that one is full stripper. You never go full stripper.

TSR The Full & Glorious History of NuTSR

How on Earth do you know that? Not that I don't believe you - I'm just curious. Considering that LaNasa leads his biography by mentioning he's only one rank below George Washington as a Mason, that would be quite a blow to him. I would say that could be his supervillain origin story, but...

What Does a "Successful" RPG Look Like?

People keep saying that you can't outsell D&D, but I'm confident that my upcoming ruleset, Oubliettes and Otyughs, will do so easily.

What Does a "Successful" RPG Look Like?

These five things are the main criteria to me.

    AD&D/OSRIC: How did initiative work?

This is why, when I played AD&D back in the Reagan years, I always brought a lawyer with me. "I'm going to pull out my longsword and attack those goblins! And I believe you all know Mr. Cohen."

    13th Age 13th Age 2E update!

In theory, the PDF version should be released this month. Whether or not they'll hit that goal I don't know, but that's the schedule. If it's out on time, that will mean Daggerheart, 13th Age 2e, and Draw Steel! will all be released within a span of about 7 weeks. I fear that one of those...

    Daggerheart General Thread [+]

The part of Daggerheart that intrigues me the most -- but also frightens me the most -- is the lack of initiative in combat. Can anyone recommend an actual play where that's handled well? I really want to see it in action.

Goodman Games Revives Relationship With Anti-Semitic Publisher For New City State Kickstarter [UPDATED]

I'm not sure that the word "camp" is ideal in this context.

    Daggerheart General Thread [+]

I love the fact that Daggerheart isn't exactly like D&D! But also, here are my houserules to make it exactly like D&D.

    Daggerheart General Thread [+]

The original paladins in history/mythology were Christian holy knights who fought Muslim invaders during the Crusade era. So calling them "jihadist" is not that far from a simple statement of fact. There's room for disagreement, but it's hardly trolling. Clerics are trickier because there's a...

    Daggerheart General Thread [+]

People do cheat, though. It's a fact. A guy showed up at our D&D meet-up a few years ago and pretended he was so nearsighted that he had to pick up his d20 to see what it said. He was actually just changing the die to always hit. It was fairly obvious. The fact that people like him cheat makes...

Goodman Games Offers Assurances About Judges Guild Royalties

I'm delighted to report that today's conversation on the Goodman Games Discord is about putting together an all-drag-queen live play of City State just to enrage Bledsaw. So the trolls don't seem to have taken over yet. Emphasis on yet. This could certainly end very poorly.

    D&D General DALL·E 3 does amazing D&D art

Ha! I never played Eberron, so I don't have the best eye for this, but that pic looks prefectly Warforged-y to me. Except for the arc reactor in his chest, but that's easy to Photoshop out.

Goodman Games Offers Assurances About Judges Guild Royalties

Out of curiosity, what have you seen? I'm not seeing much positive engagement with GG on any social media platform. Whenever they mention CSotIO, they're getting blasted. I especially liked when someone on Facebook asked what it would cost, and another person replied, "Their reputation." I...

    VTT Recommendations?

Foundry is stupendous but has a steep learning curve. I picked up Roll20 a good bit more quickly than I did Foundry. But once I got the hang of Foundry, it's much more powerful.
