I don't want to get off-topic, but if point buy is a minority of campaigns, that's news to me. I think literally every 5e game in which I've ever played used point buy.

I think it should be called Paladin's Smite of the Paladin Which is a Paladin Ability of the Paladin Class. Or just Smite. One or the other of those.

Funny. I expected the monk to get a radical overhaul and rogue (which seemed fine as is) to change very little. Instead monk hasn't been changed that much and rogue gets a shocking new suite of abilities. Not that I'm complaining about rogue. Cunning Strike is the fix I didn't know I needed...

They're just comparing the number of options and the complexity, not implying this game is DOS3. Virtually everything they're announcing here is straight out of the 5e rules.
