The "I Didn't Comment in Another Thread" Thread

Yesterday at our D&D game one of the other players looked at me and said "I'm getting kind of tired of just playing D&D". And I nodded calmly and said "Yes, there are many other games we could play", calmly. When in reality inside I was:

D&D General How Do You Like Your In Person Tactical Setup?

I got all excited for a minute because I thought people were going to post pictures of their chest rigs and PVS-14s.

In my defense, my stupidity is all natural, no rhetorical gamesmanship here.

What is your favorite RPG book of all time?

It is definitely more sword and sorcery than FR (though, it's not a high bar). But yeah, it's a weird mix if you step back and look at it. You have some darker sword and sorcery stuff in the background, and in the foreground political machinations and conflicts and like, Arthurian-esque knightly...

What is your favorite RPG book of all time?

I judge things by how "useful" they are at the table (that is, how many useful tables, rules etc are in it) but also how much it fires my mind and fills it with ideas and inspiration. In no particular order: Both of these sourcebooks filled with tons of useful mechanical bits and lore and...

I don't understand, how in this thread, we haven't talked about bagel bites yet. It seems so natural.

    RPGnet is merging with RPGMatch

Not surprising. The most benign and milquetoast stuff is actionable over there. I wish them luck or whatever, but they could have the slickest website in the world and I wouldn't post there.

James Introcaso talks about the Power Roll, a change to the MCDM resolution system.

I'm enjoying the back-and-forth (legitimately), but aren't we now on a tangent about the tangent? I'm aware that all the rules are made up and the points don't matter, but what's the goal here?

James Introcaso talks about the Power Roll, a change to the MCDM resolution system.

Look, I think the important thing here is that we can all agree that Joy Division is far superior to New Order and that Sharkleberry Fin is the best flavor of Kool-Aid.

Eh, I don't know. That's like saying you like At the Drive Inn and not The Mars Volta. Or that you liked Joy Division but can't stand New Order. You can like someone's previous works and also dislike what they are currently doing and wish they were doing something else instead.

James Introcaso talks about the Power Roll, a change to the MCDM resolution system.

That's where I'm at. I get that they were upfront with saying that they were still designing the game when they asked for money, but man, I would expect the basic one sentence resolution mechanic to not change. I can definitely see people who backed this not being super excited of this going...
