But I figure fewer sorcerers and warlocks make it to high level, BECAUSE they didn't earn it. As a group, they are neither exceptionally smart nor exceptionally wise, and those traits will keep you alive better than a high Charisma score.

I think you tie the celestial warlockhood to the celestials / angels themselves. Good-aligned celestials aren't worshiped, but they can be revered, and they may have more of a direct contact with a mortal than the gods. A high Cha / low Wisdom person might need more of that hands-on contact...

I think the problem with the kensai is that you have a "sword saint" who probably doesn't start using a katana until 3rd level. I guess there are workarounds . . . just use short sword stats and call it a day?
