    Bree-Land Region Guide: A Review

Or you could go the other route and have the campaign take place about an hour behind LOTR. The PCs got a late start and keep showing up shortly after Gandalf or Aragorn do something cool and important.

    Bree-Land Region Guide: A Review

You're welcome. Good solid word. I've been hip-deep in the Pendragon system for the past month or so, and I think maybe that has some of the same problems. Maybe one way to make this work is a different wizard (aren't there some Blue Wizards who just kinda wandered off to the West?), a...

    Bree-Land Region Guide: A Review

I have a number of products for this game, both original and d20 flavor, and I honestly don't know how anyone plays it "right." The source material seems to demand a stately, elegiac tone, which I have never seen a group of gamers maintain. Having detailed rules for "walking" and "asking for...

Unearthed Arcana Unearthed Arcana: The Artificer Is Here! & UA Schedule Changes

I want a "Lego video game" specialty. Master Builder. Wave your hands at a pile of raw materials, and they go click-click-click, and bam, you done built something. Which I guess you can do with the Artillarist. Why the hell is sanctuary on the spell list? What's the thinking there? Like a...

Robert Schwalb releases his version of Warlord

Agreed, but I guess the psion / mystic will arrive someday and be Int-based. I'd like to see some more builds where Intelligence is at least the smart place to put your second highest ability score. Smart fighters, smart rogues, smart warlocks . . .

Artificer UA to be released in February

Now that is a pretty hip class. Thanks for sharing.

D&D 5E (2014) Would you be okay with class abilities that explicitly addressed multi-classing?

Not really the same thing, I guess, but I'd sure like to see some more builds that benefit from a non-standard ability score distribution. For instance . . . a high Charisma fighter, or a high Wisdom rogue, or a high Strength monk. All of which would lend itself toward future multiclassing, of...

Upcoming products will "touch on cultures that don't usually get exposure."

I don't miss too many Duane Eddy references. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NSagjIc3slk

Upcoming products will "touch on cultures that don't usually get exposure."

Missed opportunity, sir. The correct response is "Gnome on the Range."

Upcoming products will "touch on cultures that don't usually get exposure."

Or does it mean EXTREMELY Western settings, and the whole continent of Katashaka is nothing but cowboys, but like, elf cowboys?

Upcoming products will "touch on cultures that don't usually get exposure."

Yeah, it's not clear if they mean "Haven't done in 5E yet" (in which case Kara-Tur, Al-Quadim, and Maztica are the most likely candidates) vs. "Haven't done in D&D ever" (in which case you gotta think harder and speculate more).

Upcoming products will "touch on cultures that don't usually get exposure."

Maybe like Mindshadows, yes. I think that later in the podcast, it's suggested that they are consulting with some real-world cultural experts on the new products, and acknowledge they should've done so for the recent return for Chult. So I think this is real-world stuff, and something where...

Upcoming products will "touch on cultures that don't usually get exposure."

WotC's Kate Welch and Nathan Stewart talked on the Spoilers & Swag streamed chat. They mentioned that in 2020, there will be a couple of products that will touch on cultures that don't usually get exposure in D&D. Just going on record that a psionics book in a Realms-based analogue of Tibet /...

    Spring's D&D Release Will Be Ship-Themed

I had forgotten that there's a whole Australia analogue down there. What a strange campaign that would be. No armor, and the only weapons are Rock, Blunt Stick, Sharp Stick, and Magic Returning Throwing Stick. Some kind of South Seas / Indonesia / Polynesia analogue would be very cool, and...

What's important here is that the sidekick rules will support awakened parrots. The rest is details.

    Spring's D&D Release Will Be Ship-Themed

Hey, I think I'm on to something with that India / Tibet / Nepal psionics book, which is going to be another 5th edition setting + crunch combo book. Write that down, people. We shall go their in our new boats.

    Spring's D&D Release Will Be Ship-Themed

I meant "Forgotten Realms equivalent of Wakanda" more in the general sense of "place that is really awesome and really African." But I'd go a step further, and say, "place that is every bit as awesome as Sharn or Waterdeep." But a rare resource is not a bad hook. Maybe this region has some...
