D&D 5E (2024) Jeremy Crawford Gives an Overview of the New Unearthed Arcana

however I also would not expect that a new book putting out a subclass or magic item for 5e would need every DM to adjust it to make it work for a 2014 bard or 2014 warlock but that is what some suggest while keep saying it is compatible

D&D 5E (2024) Jeremy Crawford Gives an Overview of the New Unearthed Arcana

yeah the only people I see pushing the "wotc is lying" narrative are one or two fringe cases and a whole lot of strawmaning... like the theoretical person who buys WotC books, follows WotC news, is playtesting the new WotC game AND hates and actively wishes ill on wotc... and for the books they...

D&D 5E (2024) Jeremy Crawford Gives an Overview of the New Unearthed Arcana

I agree with the bard player. WOtC has given the control entirely to the bard in the playtest, so taking part of that away doesn't seem right.., the trouble is the duration, how long can you hold it.

D&D 5E (2024) Jeremy Crawford Gives an Overview of the New Unearthed Arcana

did you see the thread about warlock cantrips that don't count as warlock cantrips? how bout my thread about spell lists going forward? But yes how would subclasses work each one needs at least some modification

D&D 5E (2024) Jeremy Crawford Gives an Overview of the New Unearthed Arcana

the problem is the sides stopped being different thoughts and opinions of people and became some kind of religious zealot thing were people on both sides are hunting for heretics.

    D&D 5E (2024) spells going forward

someone posted a OotS panel about house ruleing a 3.0 fly into a 3.5 game so for them to make fun of it, it can't have been uncommon.

    D&D 5E (2024) spells going forward

I mean in many fictions wizards weild magic that can cure wounds, so that doesn't seem strange EXCEPT in D&D

D&D 5E (2024) What would change for you if Wizards started calling it 6E?

no one has said the sky is falling, we are explaining how we see things and being attacked for it, in threads ASKING for feedback OUR feedback is being unwelcome.

D&D 5E (2024) What would change for you if Wizards started calling it 6E?

we will start with yeah new warlock stuff but also new bard stuff. right now pact magic is the biggest canary in the cole mine, but the inspiration mechanic for bards changed too, so new rules (subclass, magic, feats, items, and adventures) will all use not pact magic and new bard inspire...

D&D 5E (2024) What would change for you if Wizards started calling it 6E?

that is the same line for editions... 1e/2e and 3e/3.5 becuse the 2014 no longer is supported going forward if they keep it as optional it's fine, when they say all future books will use the new stuff that tells me there is a break

D&D 5E (2024) What would change for you if Wizards started calling it 6E?

I agree with the first half... the amount of who changes isn't a issue... the split is. again so far all we have seen or heard is adventure back compatible, so I still don't see how this "if you don't switch" new stuff will support the old on any player facing content

D&D 5E (2024) What would change for you if Wizards started calling it 6E?

if it;s a 60/40 or 50/50 split how is that not the same divide there would be if it was an edition change?

    D&D 5E (2024) spells going forward

I think a power source universal spell list is a great theory, but it still needs each class to have it's own list. Like all arcane classes can get dispel but only wizard and bard get counterspell

D&D 5E (2024) Jeremy Crawford: “We are releasing new editions of the books”

the funny part is I am 100% team "Tasha's works great" and was looking forward to it, it was one of the few 5e books I preordered.

D&D 5E (2024) Jeremy Crawford: “We are releasing new editions of the books”

that is so what I am calling the confusing argument that it is both a fix/replacement AND completely useable together.

D&D 5E (2024) Jeremy Crawford: “We are releasing new editions of the books”

my limited understanding (some one correct me if I am wrong) is that at the beginning of an edition cycle the splats sell some high % of what the PHB did but each year it drops. in 4e it dropped sooner then 5e but that could be a function of 1 per month as apposed to 2-3 per year.

D&D 5E (2024) Jeremy Crawford: “We are releasing new editions of the books”

again, they really could clear it up, I have seen 3 diffrent ways to do it. I just am working on what we have now not assuming what will be then.

D&D 5E (2024) Jeremy Crawford: “We are releasing new editions of the books”

I have no I think I am being insulted for having the idea that a rule can be read either way AND still be read in good faith. you know except when I get PMed to shut up (reported) or when I am told I am just a WotC hater (you know the company that I support enough that it could be taken as a...

I imagine that less then half the people playing will be paying for a beyond account.
