why would a mix and match warlock use the arcane list not 'any warlock spell'... if it is mix and match what makes the 2024 book supersede the 2014 one?

I think the idea of pact cantrips would be a big improvement

no because they were better at buffing and handing out extra attack/actions... they both where leaders but warlords where better at offensive force multiplication and clerics were better at healing... and both could do the other decent.

wait healing 1d10+ level is less then 1d8+ caster stat mod?!?!?! cure wounds heals 1d8+3 and at 3rd level second wind heals 1d10+3 how is that smaller? heck useing a 3rd level slot at 5th level heals 3d4+4 from healing word and second wind at level 5 heals 1d10+5... thats about the same.

I think this is a good argument for improving the sorcerer and taking some of the wizards toys

I am intrigued now... I can't think of 10 new ones off top of my head so I can't imagine 40... but I would not doubt 16-20

I would love to have a dedicated 'pet caster' that can be a summoner or necromancer based on build Warlord is a given psion would be cool but may I add an arcane half caster some where between the playtest warlock and the armor/battlesmith artificer

but no one can mistake a primal cantrip for a warlock cantrip... you can easily mistake a warlock cantrip for a warlock cantrip

did you read what I typed? I never said I could read the mind of the writer, I never said this is some cool rules lawyering,,, I said (as the OPs group shows) you can read it and make the mistake (if it is a mistake again not claiming I can read devs minds) I can make a common reading at basic...

As a player I would be pissed if I were fighting a trained soldier and they didn't have the masteries... not every orc but that orc champion for sure. Not ever town guard, but that weapon master. Not every soldier should be a fighter stand in but there should be as many fighter stand ins as any...

except the new book will (if printed as the UA) add them as warlock cantrips... and not have a separate list, and can easily be read as then being added to the list of warlock cantrips

the current warlock says Cantrips You know two cantrips of your choice from the warlock spell list. You learn additional warlock cantrips of your choice at higher levels, as shown in the Cantrips Known column of the Warlock table. now if this new book REALLY is just an add on not a replacment...
