D&D 5E (2024) Martial vs Caster: Removing the "Magical Dependencies" of high level.

the writers of the show (Power Rangers not the OG) are DM geniuses mixing and matching crazy PC things into one combined world they should not have been...

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D 5.11 - the time of big change is over

I have never heard this opinion before... I thought almost everyone thought it was too much damage over too much area for a 3rd level spell

D&D 5E (2014) What houserules do we assume is common in the community?

I hate when people argue that an acrobat is the same as an athletic check... like isn't Dex good enough make your darn str check.

D&D 5E (2024) Martial vs Caster: Removing the "Magical Dependencies" of high level.

yup... they are all over the spectrum. It's like 2 or 3 awesome prefect spells and 1 or 2 OP broken spells and 3 or 4 why would anyone cast this waste of space spells and then a bunch that fall between perfect and weak. Agree I think spells need to be looked at OUTSIDE of legacy numbering. We...

D&D 5E (2024) Martial vs Caster: Removing the "Magical Dependencies" of high level.

alot no... more then I see of people talking about how cool fighters are YES. I would say it's like 5-10% on both though cause most people fall into "yeah I can see that" to both sides and don't post or talk about major one way or the other... Infact my personal experience is even people who...

D&D 5E (2024) Ideas for Advanced Masteries that "cost" multiple attacks

imagine if fighters could take a bonus action to get an extra attack but that attack only delt the weapon damage (and later the magic +) and everytime they got an extra attack (5 11 17) they could make that extra attack with the bonus too... so 2 attacks normally 1 at 1w+stat and 1 at 1w but at...

D&D 5E (2014) What houserules do we assume is common in the community?

one of the smartest dumb things I ever saw someone do was tie there sword to there wrist so they could drop it and it would hang there then they could free action object interaction take it back... all cool until someone double wields light crossbows

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D 5.11 - the time of big change is over

yeah that isn't what I liked... I liked the variability. I have +2 cha yeah but two more +1s anywhere means I can be good at anything... then I can pick a free skill or trade that out for a spell (High elf cantrip) or trade that out for a swim speed. I mean I can play an elf and refluff it or...

D&D 5E (2024) Martial vs Caster: Removing the "Magical Dependencies" of high level.

I can write action surge as a spell and I can write spells as martial maneuvers (in fact in order to play a 'fighter' my group will often take bard or warlock and refluff)

D&D 5E (2024) Martial vs Caster: Removing the "Magical Dependencies" of high level.

yes and thank you for noticing I was not saying this as my OG thoughts but as a responce. I think that starting at 1st level all the way up there are spells that need to be adjusted those 3 spells I would say need to be not spells... they need to be part of a new subsystem of rituals, and have...

D&D 5E (2024) Martial vs Caster: Removing the "Magical Dependencies" of high level.

This entire mind set needs to be done away with. It comes down to "I disagree and I feel I am in the majority" nobody (I doubt even WotC) has enough data to truely say who is and who is not in the majority. You started by calling out how odd my game is, I pointed out it wasn't THAT odd cause I...

if you don't have a scientific survey of all or at least 88% or more of all D&D players alive and dead that has been tipple cross checked in peer review you can't put your opinion's up... unless they agree with mine, then mine count as facts.

D&D 5E (2024) Martial vs Caster: Removing the "Magical Dependencies" of high level.

I think there is a mix of things. 1 you need to keep a basic "has high hp ac and does good to great damage" 2 you need to make a class or sub set of subclasses that give the martials options on par with where spell casters will end up and 3 you need to drop all the full casters down the nerf...
