D&D 5E (2024) Jeremy Crawford discusses what are the 2024 Fitfh Edition Core Rulebooks.

yes, I remember it was an earlier video, I will see after work if I can find it. funny, that is one of the things I said would make it incompatible and I kept getting told I was wrong. I would say the change to pact magic was equal level of change, the idea of all casters being prep is close...

nope... just nope. 2 parties in the same dungeon/adventure party 1 a champion fighter a thief rouge a life cleric and a invocer wizard party 2 a blade singer wizard (melee build) a armor artificer (trap detection and melee build) a war cleric (that can be both/either range melee) and a...

unless the wizard teleports away, or has a contingency up that stops the pencel, or if when he shoots at them he misses cause of the illusion... I can only assume at this point you will only except a wizard with NO SPELLS as an example... can we use cantrips?

D&D 5E (2024) Martial vs Caster: Removing the "Magical Dependencies" of high level.

yup... it's a weird strawman where a 20th level wizard can do things no merlin or gandalf or vuldamort could, but lets pair him with a super spy with no powers...

D&D 5E (2024) Martial vs Caster: Removing the "Magical Dependencies" of high level.

wizards no, but all players yes. We generally give an over all concept, an idea of what level we are shooting for (not to say we don't tpk first or overshoot sometimes) they don't have to know... because my problem isn't some theory that you want to argue against... just knock it off. If you...

the point from where I am sitting is to discuss weather there will be a break of playing X and Playing Y and if enough of the people will allow BOTH X and Y together

D&D 5E (2024) Jeremy Crawford discusses what are the 2024 Fitfh Edition Core Rulebooks.

the worst part is I think they have at least hinted at if not out right said they mean the adventures and DM side of things will work mostly with minimal effort, not that player faceing options will work, let alone work with no effort to convert.

there are also warlord and fighter and rogue powers that do that... some encounter at that (I would not be surprised if someone found something better still) however no one has to plan around "AoE daze+ vulnerable all until end of my next turn" the way they have to plan around "Can teleport...

D&D 5E (2024) Martial vs Caster: Removing the "Magical Dependencies" of high level.

full stop ANY TWO WIZARD SPELLS... so yes every wizard can choose any two wizard spells (of 1/2 there level round up) each level. so every spell must be considered becasue as of level up any wizard can pick any of them. Anything other then this is a house rule. no less then any 2 they want...

D&D 5E (2024) Jeremy Crawford discusses what are the 2024 Fitfh Edition Core Rulebooks.

yeah this is why I was told I was lying when I said in the 2014 phb warlock cantrip and cantrip a warlock can take meant the same thing, and if they put out warlock cantrips in 2024 that could be read honestly as a cantrip a warlock can choose at level up... but then I was told no one could ever...

the only person being told there experience is invalid is me. I didn't say they didn't have real good control based daily powers I said big game changers like instant death teleport long distance long term flight shifting planes building planes didn't exists.

that is how we played 3e 4e and how we play 5e, we rarely have a fight we didn't want to have. sometimes we do that but we often go off half cocked, so not really how we roll

lets try to improve this... I want to hit them so hard they can't move, one attack that deals like tipple damage and paralyze. what level is that appropriate to improv? Dizzying Blow Fighter Attack 5 Daily ✦ Martial, Reliable, Weapon Standard Action Melee Weapon Target: One creature...

I'm sorry that is good but not game breaking or encounter ending... infact it is helpful for the rest of the party, it isn't winning the fight but it is making the rogue fighter or warlord have an easier time landing there attacks without getting hit. compare that to tasha's laugh or hold...

D&D 5E (2024) Martial vs Caster: Removing the "Magical Dependencies" of high level.

I mean you made up a house rule restricting a large number of spells that could solve issues with no issue. You then proposed "As GM just take away that magic" as the answer when the problem is WOtC made casters too important. you said: by the rules every level a wizard can pick any 2 spells...

except YOU are missing the point, the caster can just say they are going to ____ fill in with ANY plane. No need for it to be built into the adventure. "Oh the evil town cleric was killed and we need to know how... I will pop into hell and ask" no need for the adventure to have a portal. Heck...
