    D&D 5E (2014) Forge of Fury TFTYP?

I ran it! Start of 2020. It was my first VTT game and I used it to learn the ropes. It's brutal. I knew it was a one shot and we weren't using the characters past the adventure, so I didn't pull any stops and even added a bit of difficulty. Had 5 PC deaths by the end, and after the final...

D&D 5E (2014) How do you award XP and how often?

I USED to do XP somewhere around mid 3rd edition, but it was so tedious I eventually stopped and haven't done it since. I would like XP much more if it was A) smaller numbers, and B) you used it to buy upgrades rather than an arbitrary level marker.

    D&D 5E (2014) Do we need a Fifth Edition Revival (5ER)?

I got it for $30 through Roll20, and it had the 22 card deck installed as digital cards, and I figured out how to add extra cards from the Deck of Many More Things, so now I have a usable deck of around 50 cards that can be pulled by players.

    D&D 5E (2014) Do we need a Fifth Edition Revival (5ER)?

Did you run Margreve? That was good. I mixed it with several other of Kobold's stuff. They really do put out amazing products.

Jumpgate Is An Overhaul of the Roll20 VTT

I stick extra tokens on the GM layer as needed, but having them relegated to the side on a map with no panning limit would be better.

Jumpgate Is An Overhaul of the Roll20 VTT

Just curious, what kind of technical issues? We use Roll20 too but it almost always works perfectly. Only rarely has the server lagged. My opinion the past 3 years is the complete opposite, and for the price point, I like playing online better than playing in person as DM. I have full...

A Look at the New Deck of Many Things

Hmm. I just got this for Roll20 and assumed it would have the card art, but it doesn't. Or, I'm not looking in the right place. The art compendium just has monster tokens and such.

D&D General Night Below: An Underdark Campaign

That's what I recommend. There are hundreds of maps out there similar enough to repurpose and upload to the VTT. I even repurpose maps I already purchased through Roll20 that have all the dynamic lighting embedded.

D&D 5E (2014) House rules based on experience with Bg3

That's a great idea. Might use that. As for bonus action, I still stick with an action in my games. If I wanted a bonus action I would introduce something special where the bonus was a perk of the magic item, not a blanket ability.

D&D General Do you incorporate holiday or festive themes into your games?

I incorporated some Halloween stuff into a recent Spelljammer game. On Halloween night.

How hard is learning a new TTRPG system?

We mostly just play 5e. I dabbled minimally in DCC, which I really, really loved, but when I tried to get the players on board they waved it off. To really get a good "feel" for DCC would have taken months of gaming, and they didn't want to invest that time into a secondary game. I ran the...
