    Spoilers Interstellar

Why not? As long as you don’t cross back over that event horizon, why can’t you wander round and talk to people? (I mean aside from the floating in space so no air thing). The event horizon isn’t like an energy barrier within which everything is different, it’s just the mathematical point at...

    Spoilers Interstellar

I dunno, does it? I mean it doesn’t matter to me; you brought it up. You were talking about being part of the singularity a minute ago. That’s a different thing to being just over the event horizon. As Umbran said, you can function just fine inside the event horizon. You won’t cross back out...

    Spoilers Interstellar

Does the movie say “inside the black hole” or are those just your words? (Genuine question—I don’t remember). Or do they just refer to crossing the event horizon?

    Spoilers Interstellar

Well I don’t know who ‘they’ are but generally the only context I’ve personally heard that in was as I described above. I’ve never heard anybody describe the magic bit at the end as amazing science. Most people just went “huh?” at that bit. YMMV, of course.

    Spoilers Interstellar

That’s not the science they mean. That bit is, indeed, magic. But when they talk about the science they are talking about the depiction of the black hole, the wormhole, the use of time dilation, etc. Murph. As in Murphy!

    Spoilers Interstellar

I saw this years ago when it came out but watched it again last night. I have mixed feelings about it. I love all the time dilation stuff, the gorgeous space cinematography, flawless performances, the high concept, the idea that the ghost is future him. All great stuff. Two Hamilton watches...

    Spoilers Superman Spoiler Thread

I don't think Luthor was replying to himself! It was a reply to Luthor saying something about Supes coming in at Ultraman's 6 o'clock. You can just hear the end of the "...clock" in that clip there.
