D&D General Cthulhu by Torchlight Brings Mythos To D&D

since we are talking about combining things, had this in my inbox yesterday, thinking of adding that into my mix https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/voidsea/voidsea

jeez, what is up with all these old designers having naughty word ideas and not having the decency / awareness to keep their mouths shut

D&D General Cthulhu by Torchlight Brings Mythos To D&D

when looking into this yesterday, I saw that he partnered with either Catalyst Games and / or Quimbley, but neither partnership seems to have produced anything. I assume the announcement would have been about that though Catalyst has an announcement, but so far nothing came of it as far as I...

D&D 5E (2024) Here's The Covers of BOTH of November's Forgotten Realms Books

same, just not liking the new cover, at all, not that SCAG was great… thematically they are similar, but at least I prefer the actual picture for SCAG over the new one

D&D 5E (2024) Here's The Covers of BOTH of November's Forgotten Realms Books

agreed to me these characters are about as blurred as the mage from SCAG, no one is even remotely crisp

D&D General Cthulhu by Torchlight Brings Mythos To D&D

How many pages is Cthulhu by Torchlight (approximately)? The description mentions a dozen subclasses, 20 monsters, and some other stuff that should not need a lot of room. I would guess somewhere between 64 and 80 pages as a PDF, but ultimately I have no real idea. Is there anything included...

D&D General Cthulhu by Torchlight Brings Mythos To D&D

yeah, looks like Petersen Games was swallowed by the void / Covid shipping prices, oops. Bought a bunch of their Mythos 5e PDFs maybe two years ago, did not expect them to disappear

D&D 5E (2024) Here's The Covers of BOTH of November's Forgotten Realms Books

your generalization is accurate, I like 2e and 3e though, at least some of it (Elmore, Parkinson, Lockwood the most). I like the ‘oil painting style’ over the ‘digital brush’ one (Stawicki), they always end up blurry / lacking detail, and these days they all go digital… still the FR Players...

D&D 5E (2024) Here's The Covers of BOTH of November's Forgotten Realms Books

The first picture, the one for the Player's Guide, the whole thing is blurry / not crisp. The only thing that is, is the text, so to me the picture is just a bad, low detail, blurry mess. That has nothing to do with my device and everything with the picture. I circled the most egregious parts...

D&D 5E (2024) Here's The Covers of BOTH of November's Forgotten Realms Books

they look out of focus / blurry, obviously this is not a camera picture of the cover page though, so they technically aren't. The only way to really tell is that the font is sharp though...

I am sure you can show me something more interesting than four out of focus humanoids posing for the camera however…

D&D General Did 5e 2024 Not meet the economic goals set, and if not, why not?

I can see them having painted themselves into a corner with DDB and maybe some other stuff by the time they would want to release a 6e, but 5e is only perpetual as long as it keeps selling well

D&D General Cthulhu by Torchlight Brings Mythos To D&D

is the plan to turn this into a 'line' (e.g. have some adventures for it) or is it a one-off?

D&D General Did 5e 2024 Not meet the economic goals set, and if not, why not?

pretty sure they will need quite a bit of overhaul if 6e were to deviate more from 5e, the way 3e / 4e / 5e did

D&D General Did 5e 2024 Not meet the economic goals set, and if not, why not?

hard to say given the post I replied to. I also did not say it wasn’t, I said if it weren’t, then I doubt they would consider it a success

D&D General Did 5e 2024 Not meet the economic goals set, and if not, why not?

I doubt they would want to call that out if they can get away with not doing so, i.e. it is not so catastrophic that D&D shrinks by 50% or so and it becomes very obvious in the high-level numbers they prefer to present That being said, just staying flat (compared to what, 12 months ago or the...

presumably the OGL? Yes, because this is a disparate bunch you would not use together anyway, while it does make sense for the different 5Es to mix and match
