yeah, if they go that route I am happily joining @Micah on the ‘I can ignore this without any regrets’ side. I can confidently say that I want absolutely none of this (Vancian and alignment can go, but the rest is the exact opposite of what I am looking for)

that might explain the patron part, but not the defiling / preserving. They are also not going to say this race / class does not exist in this setting. Everything has to be essentially the same, with a different coat of paint on top

it is even true for 2024. Current sales are good, but it too is too new to already talk about long term trajectory. As you point out, even two years might not be enough to predict that

yep, that would be a pretty smart move, and why not, the two games are similar enough in theme to share the same setting

don’t they have different core books for the different settings? It might be all under one general system, but they are still separate instances of it (kinda like Cypher or Savage Worlds) or am I misunderstanding that?

eh, ToV already has the changes you mentioned and WotC shied away from. I am not waiting another 10 years for them to catch up to that. If that is all that 6e manages to do, they have fallen farther behind the curve by then and I will ignore it, just like I am ignoring 2024. To each their own...

5.5 should have had that already, that it doesn’t is one of the reasons why I did not bother going with it. From a 6e I want more than that, but obviously different people want different things from ‘their’ 6e

maybe by people who have me blocked… As to SotWW, I definitely think there are ideas in there that are worth a look, and definitely would take from the class design idea with the three tiers (choose a novice class at first level, expert at 3rd and master at 7th - with the game compressing...

I assumed that was for US print copies rather than the tariffs eating all profits. Can still be a significant chunk, but it is their decision and within their control. Shipping the books because you trust things stay the same is outside your control and can break you if things turn south, esp...

doesn’t WotC say to not worry about balance in your feedback, but about the idea itself? That seems to imply that they do not care much about balance feedback and work on that themselves instead

the whole party benefits when some players have access proving that it wasn’t about accomplishing better balance…
