Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

I wasn't aware, but my comment was more that its fraught, but Morrus has allowed things that are politics-adjacent but very relevant to the focus of this board to continue before.

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

    Well, yeah, there's that too.

D&D General Mike Mearls' blog post about RPG generations

It kind of does as to whether playstyles propagated.

D&D General Mike Mearls' blog post about RPG generations

I suspect an awful lot of people would consider the WoD urban fantasy.

D&D General Mike Mearls' blog post about RPG generations

At the very least, this is fantasy-centric. D&D notwithstanding, fantasy isn't the whole of the hobby.

    Realistic Combat that's Simple(ish)

That's only really an assumption in parts of the D&D sphere, largely because they're so focused on resource management to one degree or another. I didn't see a lot of that in my Fantasy Hero or RuneQuest days.

    Realistic Combat that's Simple(ish)

There are some things about the avoidance-based defense that can sometimes not work well for tanking, but they usually require certain assumptions about setting usually, and as you say, usually will at least complexity to some degree.

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Given the nature of Collective Shout its probably not going to be easy to talk about this without hitting the political wall.

    Spoilers Superman Spoiler Thread

Though as noted, he's really a Mon-El copy, since the whole Imperial Guard started out as LSH expies on the part of Dave Cockram and Chris Claremont (though his real name is probably a Superman joke).

    Spoilers Superman Spoiler Thread

My point was that it only followed because it was a brand new take on the character. It should have otherwise been known long since.

    Spoilers Superman Spoiler Thread

Byrne's take only makes sense because he got to essentially reboot the character. Besides the differences in Krypton and related, the whole TK thing requires that a lot of people who would have figured out that was what he'd been doing previously didn't do so, since its not like telekinetic...

General Questions For A New Book

That's the take 13th Age did with a couple of powerful entities that are clearly supposed to be Lloth and Vecna (they even make a terrible joke about the first one at one point).

D&D General Mike Mearls' blog post about RPG generations

The first half of your second sentence is the killer.

D&D General Mike Mearls' blog post about RPG generations

I suspect you've effectively decided, then, that discussion about styles and preferences is functionally impossible, because nobody is going to keep repeating what they're talking about with those constantly. Its just not going to happen. That's why jargon develops in the first place. You may...

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

You know, even though I only give it a look at the end, I kind of wonder seeing some of the conversation why I'm still sticking my head in that thread.

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

I might actually give the For The Win in Montebello a look, since that's not a ridiculous drive.

    Spoilers Superman Spoiler Thread

It was one of those "the handwaving bothers me so I'm going to try and do different handwaving I like better" that new writers to a title (and Byrne was particularly prone to this) do, and then when it goes back to others who don't have an itch about it, they, as you say, quietly forget.

    Spoilers Superman Spoiler Thread

You can't say with certainty, but when--I can't remember if it was Metamorpho or Mr. Terrific--talking about it earlier they pretty clearly spell out its a flow of antimatter, which is why in combination with the growing black hole they really, really need to close off this place right quick.

    Spoilers Superman Spoiler Thread

Ironically, traditionally antimatter was one of the few things that reliably would still hurt Superman.
