    WoD renaming, White Wolf returns

You're going to get a lot further on that score by simply getting the Trilogy. The Mechanoids:The Mechanoid Invasion::Mechanoid Space:Mechanoids Homeworld. Since Invasiona and Homeworld are in Trilogy... I'll note as well, the letter format The Mechanoids is slightly updated from TMI, but is...

    WoD renaming, White Wolf returns

The preview/quickplay released for it. I wound up with it at one point. The irony, despite their licenses ending, FOX lets them continue to sell PDF of BTVS, Angel, and AoD.

What do YOU plan on doing with Daggerheart?

More than half my players have autism, I was recently (last 5 years) diagosed with autism as well. As an educator, I've seen a super high correlation with a need to understand why in my students with autism; I've also seen it in my player base. They want to know what correlates to advancement —...

    WoD renaming, White Wolf returns

Witchcraft doesn't need some of those splats... The Full Unisystem games are fully interoperable. The ones I remember by name being Witchcraft, All Flesh Must Be Eaten, and Terra Primate. AFMB has a ton of splats. (Note: Unisystem Lite works a little differently, but is closely related; it's...

    WoD renaming, White Wolf returns

To a point, I'm the same way. I'm more interested in a Trek Like than a novel science fiction setting. I was excited for 2d20 STA when it released. I've run a bunch (a couple campaign-years of almost weekly sessions) of STA, and I like it. I like how it makes it easier to get my players to think...

New Tunnels & Trolls first look at UK Games Expo.

There is, present in the examples in 5th, but not explicit as a rule, the idea that PCs should be describing their tactics, and the GM having them make Saving Rolls to get bonuses to their damage. So, for example, if your fencer type wants to disarm his foe, the GM might set a level 3 SR on DX...

What do YOU plan on doing with Daggerheart?

No; with my (heavily laden with neurodiverse individuals) player base, that devalues the advancement experience. And yet, none of the groups I know of locally like milestone.

    WoD renaming, White Wolf returns

Star Drive was a knockoff of Traveller. Stafall is a few hours shorter than Traveller jump, but is otherwise the same basic set of tropes Traveller has more tech levels, with the stellar levels being 9-16, where Alternity had only 10, and the stellar society level being (IIRC) 8 & 9. But both...

Similar, but if there's a free option on OSR, I nab it simply to see where the OSR is at.

    WoD renaming, White Wolf returns

Except that, in RPGs, the general reception seems to be that a relaunch of an old game that was once hot, even if it's really just a whole new game with the same name and a closely related setting, sells better than a better game by a different party. See also Twilight 2000 2e, 4e; D&D 3/4/5...

My problem is more conceptual, since I often have players miss due to tests or family drama.

What do YOU plan on doing with Daggerheart?

I'll note that the abilities are more simply put together in what I've read of the class abilities vs their 5E comparisons (tho' some of the 5E Fighter ones are pretty simple, too). Part of that is putting them in card text, and relying upon common sense instead of detailed prosaic writing as...

What do YOU plan on doing with Daggerheart?

GM Fiat leveling is a thing in D&D 5, and in Pugmire (a 5e derivative), the Renegade Studios' Essence 20 games (TF, MLP, GIJ), Final Fantasy ⅩⅣ TT. And a few other level-based games. Not that it's really anything new - there were people using fiat leveling in the 70's; it's just been in the...

What do YOU plan on doing with Daggerheart?

It's still a restricted GM style. And that's very non-Trad. It's probably the biggest step away from D&D, and the one that is most likely to both be a stumbling block and to be house ruled away. One of my groups is likely to take full advantage, and generate mayhem. The other? Not so much.

Daggerheart Review: The Duality of Robust Combat Mechanics and Freeform Narrative

More than 90% of people I've gamed with own at least 2 RPGs. Almost everyone since 2008 has read at least part of the D&D PHB or the SRD, or the D&D Basic Rules. Even since about 2001, most have at least read part of the SRD. I'd say at least half of all the gamers I've played with since 1995...
