    D&D 5E (2024) D&D Marilith Is Far More Bestial In 2025

I swear there’s some lore in an official 5e book that mentions that Fiends don’t really experience gender in the way humans do and that their relationships function differently from ours. I think it lists Belial and Fernia as an example. I could be remembering wrong, though.

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D Marilith Is Far More Bestial In 2025

On a closer look, I can’t tell if the Nalfeshnee looks blue because that’s its skin color, or if that’s just the blue lighting from its flaming hands.

D&D General Mr. Potato Head Beholder from WizKids?

If Steve Harvey was Shapechanged into a Beholder, that’s what it would look like.

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D Marilith Is Far More Bestial In 2025

I’ve seen others make the same observation I did. It was the combination of blue skin and the skull belt that did it for me. And I swear I’ve seen art of Kali with her hands facing up in a similar manner to that Nalfeshnee.

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D Marilith Is Far More Bestial In 2025

Eh, I don’t think that’s the reason. If it was, no one told the artist that made the new Nalfeshnee art, which is is definitely Kali-coded.

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D Marilith Is Far More Bestial In 2025

Yes, but my point was that the difficulty of learning that would be eased if there was more visual distinction between Demons and Devils.

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D Marilith Is Far More Bestial In 2025

The new Vrock is probably my favorite of the new Demon art.

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D Marilith Is Far More Bestial In 2025

There is a small line in the 2014 lore section on Demons that says some demons are wholly unique and unlike others, which fall into categories which are mostly identical (the devil section doesn’t have an equivalent, so I don’t think this is referring to the Archfiends). So, not how I like to...

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D Marilith Is Far More Bestial In 2025

That’s why I put the “mostly” in my post. The 5e depiction was a break with tradition by having them be clothed

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D Marilith Is Far More Bestial In 2025

And part of personal freedom is determining your appearance. More homogenous, lawful societies encourage conformity in many ways, including visual appearance. Devils embody law so they’re more uniform in appearance, in my approach. Devils should look like legions and well organized armies, with...

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D Marilith Is Far More Bestial In 2025

Of all fiends, demons should have the most diversity in appearance, given that they’re the embodiment of chaos. Also, I had no idea people cared about Mariliths. I don’t think I’ve ever used them.

D&D General Teased Lorwyn-Shadowmoor Supplement Crosses Magic: the Gathering and D&D

As someone that has barely played M:tG and doesn’t know much about the game’s history and worlds, Spice8Rack’s video about Lorwyn/Shadowmoor was my first introduction to the setting. I’m definitely interested in seeing how WotC will adapt it to D&D 5e. The Kithkin are one of the few types of...

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D Monster Manual (2025)

I do not take lore into the equation of the “is it a new edition” debate.

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D Monster Manual (2025)

Is the Ordning interesting? It was just a racial caste system that basically said “the higher CR giant types are also higher ranked in giant society.” The most interesting thing 5e did with it was get rid of it (Storm King’s Thunder).

GMs: How Much Do You Curate Your Adventures To Your Specific PCs, Mechanically Speaking

I generally don’t do this. I’ve found that my PCs can generally handle most fights I throw at them, provided I don’t make it too ridiculously stacked against them. I exclusively run D&D 5e, and damage immunities and other mechanics that would heavily influence the effectiveness of a single...

Evil Drow Statblocks to Return in Forgotten Realms Rulebooks Later This Year

Okay. Let’s assume you’re right, and the only reason why WotC has began to emphasize the “multiverse” aspect of the game’s settings is because of the increased frequency of the term’s use in pop culture, like superhero movies. So what? Oh my God, who cares? If a word, which has been used in D&D...

I’m pretty sure that originated with Maimonides, a Jewish writer in the Middle Ages.
