    We are back!

I like the new look and organization. I have had a few instances, yesterday and today, when images embedded in posts - by post authors - did not render full-size when the page initially loaded, but then did once I reloaded the page. Otherwise, it seems that everything is working.

(Mutants and Masterminds) Looking for plot ideas for a villain

Since I don't know how serious this villain is supposed to be, or the camp factor of the story, I will offer Potty Mouth! Sid Ferguson, veteran sanitation worker in (insert superhero city name here), was thought dead last year when he fell into a half-empty waste storage tank at the local Super...

    Your Opinion Matters

Agreed. Or Trolls who hate a brand and just want to revel in being negative. I've reviewed several things here, and always after at least a full read, and mostly after a few sessions and some time to think.

    Diana Jones Award Nominees 2019

There are so many great pieces of art from the early days...things I remember seeing on shelves, at others' houses, in books I am happy to still own. And the stories are priceless - so much energy and will, and in many cases so little capacity and experience. It seems a miracle that DnD ever...

    Diana Jones Award Nominees 2019

Art & Arcana is a great book as a collection of art, but also for the story that it tells. If I could vote, I'd vote for that.

    D&D 5E (2014) The Spy Game is a 5E-Powered Espionage RPG

I am curious: why the discussion over 2d20 when this game is clearly based on 5e and is not from Modiphius? It seems an odd place to debate the (entirely subjective) merits of a system that has nothing to do with the content of the post. And for what it's worth, I think 2d20 is THE BEST EVAAH!!

    D&D 5E (2014) The Spy Game is a 5E-Powered Espionage RPG

They better have rules for skeet surfing...

You Are Expendable, Stay Alive if You Can with the Alien RPG Starter Kit

I bought into this, and have run and played the Chariots of the Gods adventure. I like it. FL has done a fine job of tweaking their Year Zero engine to provide for a streamlined, drama and setting-focused game in which player decisions - at least in cinematic mode - will almost certainly...

News Digest: Snippets of Pathfinder 2nd Ed Teased at PaizoCon, Cyberpunk Red Starter Set Gets Releas

The Alien QuickStart PDF is 168 pages, not 128 as listed above. I bought and have read it, and about 40 pages are the intro adventure and related sheets. It’s quite good.

Paizo To Make Kingmaker Bestiary... For D&D 5E!

Interesting observation, or perceived observation. We can also tend to be a bit manic...everything is awesome and spotless, or all is lost. That aside, there is plenty of room in the market for a few big players, but 5e has really pushed aside most all other systems, and it starting to spread...

Things from the Flood: A Review

On the nose! I have seen the digital version, and a buddy picked it up at GenCon in 2017, but we've not played it in our group and I know no one who has.

Things from the Flood: A Review

I'm interested to know how many people are playing TFTL. I made a huge splash when it came out and seemed like it was everywhere at once...and now I see virtually nothing about it in my various online groups; and no one runs it at any of the stores here in town. Sure, that's anecdotal and...

Paizo To Make Kingmaker Bestiary... For D&D 5E!

That was the first AP I ran using PF rules, after we dumped 4e. It's actually the only AP I ever ran as completely as our group wanted (we excluded the last book because we took the story in a different direction after the big war in book 5). I've toyed with running it again, using 5e and...

There's An Official ALIEN RPG Coming!

I like the idea of two modes: single-session or campaign. The former could make a great con game, given that it might end up running a single movie, wherein character death and such wouldn't be a downer. Year Zero is an interesting system, with it's been implemented a little differently for...

    Bree-Land Region Guide: A Review

Agreed. I ran this last summer for several sessions, in an attempt to get the Mirkwood campaign going, and it did not work for me or my group. We tried to establish the right vibe, as we saw it (and we're all fans, with knowledge to varying degrees, including one player with a tattoo of...

    Where's Our D&D Theme Park?

Funny - I can see people melting down online over a supposedly inaccurately portrayed tiny detail of all this made up stuff. That said, I visited HP World in Orlando last summer and it (re)sparked my interest in Eberron. Being inside Gringott's made me think of stealing the entire look and...

Fallout Tabletop RPG Announced from Modiphius

This interests me, even though I only played Fallout on Win98 decades ago for a total of maybe three hours. I like 2d0, especially the more streamlined version deployed for Star Trek Adventures and am curious about how crunchy this version will be...Conan, or STA? Very different implementations...
